I really can't wait until baggy jerseys and shorts come back.

Is the last player on the right an incarnation of Chet Holmgren?

I'm pretty sure the Fab 5 gets credit for the change in basketball, not sure about elsewhere.

Jordan got flack about it when he went to baggier shorts which was pre Fab 5, The Fab 5 is when it became a staple for all players entering the league though at that point. Before Jordan was the GOAT our an NBA champion he was nothing but a show off ball hog to a lot of people and they didn't like his rebellious long shorts. Bad for the sport. Jordan's shorts weren't actually baggy though he just had them made longer. The Fab 5 did take it to a new level for sure and that became the culture after them.

nice edition. I knew MJ's shorts were a touch longer, but I didn't recall it having a cultural impact. I just couldn't have stated why, that makes sense.

I believe the urban legend was that he wanted them longer because he tugged on his shorts when he was in his defensive stance… needed something to hold onto. Don’t know if it is true or not. I do know why Greg Oden needed baggy shorts though.

Yes, he was, and when the 2008 Lakers wore short shorts for the 1st half of a 2008 RS gm vs BOS, they got clowned for it here. They lost the game bigly and James Posey said, "They looked like damned fools." In 2022!!!....them boyz were ahead of the CURVE! Look at Drew Bynum there. He looked like a BOSS in those. You know it.

I've heard a few stories of certain college players requiring pre game taping for similar issues to Oden....maybe it's ok to be average lol!

they did look like fools because those jerseys were baggy while their shorts were not. Mismatched style will never be "cool"

Dude skinny jeans were cool in like 2012. High waisted full cuts are in now.

For shame. Feel bad for the young cats nowadays. The booties just don't look as good in these wide ass jeans compared to the skinny jeans days lol

if we're talking girls, tight LOW LOW wasted jeans need to come back.

No man should EVER wear anything tight in terms of pants...nobody wants to see that on the 99% of dudes who end up wearing it!

Lmaoo those were a vibe. But I'm sure most chicas are happy to have high waisted stuff nowadays

Slim fit is fine for guys imo. Skinny is when it gets weird. Also if you've ever even glanced at a squat rack you'll never be able to wear those

Slim falls into "style" vs ball damage. That said...anyone lifting doesn't need skinny fit either. Some kind of boot cut or something will work just fine. And why for the love of god are fat dudes in slim or even skinny jeans? Bro...it doesn't work!

If you have nice legs, the chick's be looking. Trust me. Slim pants all the way.

On the downside dudes look to. The ones who are on the other team. Better believe it. It's cool so long as they don't make eye contact or lord forbid, start up a conversation.

My favorite conversation on women's pants of all time. Buddy of mine, he's about 45 and his girl who's 29ish were arguing (plus her friends) if men think high waisted pants are hot. He takes the stance that low rise jeans, ala Megan Fox in Transformers, is basically the best look ever, if you can do that. So the girl all though high waisted was better because....I have no idea, something about showing off curves. So he had them all call their boyfriends/husbands and ask their honest opinion.

Not a single guy thought the high waisted jeans were better.
