RJ shot so poorly last season .408fg .342trey, whereas in 2020-21 he shot .441fg .401trey....
I wonder which direction he'll go next season, but can't get any worse I guess, and maybe the Knicks are happy with 40%fg.

Great deal for the Knicks. I don't think Donovan Mitchell made any sense on the Knicks other than being a big name. And call me crazy but I prefer Barrett over Mitchell by a slight margin.

Mitchell is the better player--on offense at least--but the reported demands by Danny were far, far worse for the Knicks.

Two sides to the court. Quite frankly, during the playoffs, Mitchell's defense made Brunson look like prime Reggie Miller--32/6/6, shooting .506 (.411 3p%/.608 TS%) in three playoff games without Luka. RJ has more talent on that end...and (unlike Mitchell) he actually tries too.

Ainge is not gonna deal Mitchell elsewhere for less than his asking price. If he goes to another team, it's gonna be for the picks he asked for. And when someone does, people are gonna criticize that team just like they did with Minny for giving up that much.

In which case he would pretty much deserve it right? So he’s making Jalen Brunson money but has a higher upside than Jalen Brunson. RJ settled for $65 million less than the rookie max. And if he does get $120 million, Knicks will have made an absolute steal as RJ will then have met all the built-in incentives.
