Now, I'm a massive Wiggins fan (still rock his jersey when playing at the local) and think Kyrie is an absolute nutcase, but this is some weird ****...

Both have a career high of being the second best player on a title winning team. One plays nearly every game and plays defense, the other doesn’t.

I know which player I want on the GSW roster despite being a fan of Irving myself. Other teams don’t already have Steph Curry playing for them admittedly.

Yea first look is crazy bad, but if we look closely

1. Irving played 103 games in last 3 season, Wiggs - 198 games
2. One is humble guy with zero problems, other.....
3. Defence....

Who brings more value on champions team at the moment? Easy Wiggs. Irving as option A is nothing and second to KD ruined whole BKN season.

So Heat don't have a top 15 player yet were on the cusp of 3 finals berths in 3 years nor do they have the COY. Makes sense.

Edit: CBS rankings are far better.

At this point it's clear BSPN just posts these rankings to start an uproar and controversy. No rhyme or rhythm in these rankings ever.

Shai’s shooting efficiency has gone down (with a slight increase in PPG) and his team is one of the worst in the league. Plus 6 assists a game is not all that great for an elite PG. Harden’s ranking feels a little high (though he feels up all the stat sheet) , but SGA screams chucker, especially with his atrocious 30% three point shooting.

harden or lillard are not even top 20 players

Shai is close to a top 30 at least

Its crazy to me that Donovan Mitchell and Devin Booker can have such identical stats, both on winning teams, and Booker is a Top 10 player and Mitchell just cracked the Top 25.

Lots of gripes about the list but thats what its there for. Klay Thompson doesn't deserve to be that high is the most glaring one to me.

At this rate Tatum will be crowned the best player in the league by 2024 media pundits.

Before this list was assembled I maintained that Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, and Luka were the top 4 players in the league and will be the MVP front runners for years to come. They affect the game in ways the others simply can't.

My guess is the top 5 will be something like:

1. Giannis
2. Steph
3. Jokic
4. Embiid
5. Luka

The order is irrelevant imo, so long as they they get those 4 in the top 5.

it is the same reason why team success correlates with individual value.
Booker had the image of an empty stats player.
yes he evolved. he got better on d and in efficiency. but he would have never been considered a top 10 guy without the impact of cp3

Curry's probably 2 because of the title and I also can't see them having the top 4 players in the league all be foreign/international. A lot of casuals/dumb talking heads would go nuts even though that is where we're eventually headed anyway. As Curry/KD/Lebron's careers wind down the talking heads and ESPN are putting all their hopes in Tatum, Morant, Booker, and Zion.

Its crazy to me that people talk about Mitchell as if he's not a perennial all star player. They always name his flaws but every non-superstar and even some superstars will have them.

With regards to Booker, he's getting more credit than he deserves for the Suns' success in the past two years.

I would never rate Booker over someone like Zion, who is just leaps and bounds better. Of course, Zion is also injury prone.

Both Mitchell and Booker are probably top 20 though.

Uhh, CBS list has Curry *and* Durant each ahead of Jokic, Doncic, and Embiid. That's not "impressive". It's dumb. This isn't 5 years ago.
