PJ Tucker also exists. When Embiid and Tucker play together, it's pretty impossible to score. No question that Embiid is the defensive anchor in Phili though. He always deserves buzz.

I think Mobley deserves credit as a 1st or 2nd team guy.
I think Tatum will make 1st team.
JJJ if healthy long enough?
AD?
Giannis is a staple pick

Thats 7 of 10 potential names. Who else might get in?

It's more likely that Allen gets in than Mobley, although I think both deserve recognition.

Who would've thought a center with a career 7.4 rebounds per 36 minutes could be an early-season DPOY favorite?

The frontcourt is just gonna be absolutely loaded this year.

Brook Lopez
Jarrett Allen
Giannis
Bam
Jaren Jackson
Embiid
Anthony Davis
Draymond

And that's not even getting into guys like Tatum and PJ Tucker who you could probably sneak in at SF if you don't care about positional designations. I'm not sure who you kick off that list because all these dudes have compelling cases right now.

The 76ers are giving up a league leading 32.6% on 3 Pointers this year. League average is 35.5% on 3 Point Shots. Since 3P % given up is inherently random statistically, the 76ers [accounting for randomness] would actually have a 113.1 Drtg which is 18th in the NBA.

who are you kicking off the list though?

One of the 2 bucks???
Davis/Draymond/ Bam because of record and injury's??

Decisions will need to be made.

a 1\3rd if the season has passed, that's alot of 3PA

what I mean is, the sample size's too big for it to be just random
i'd imagine some of that can be explained by random variance but not all. seems like they're good at defending the 3 :)

If you think the 76ers are great at defending the 3, that's fine, but I don't think Embiid has much to do with it.

Board demographics. If a Raptors player is ever involved in a poll and they aren’t winning it means they aren’t even close to deserving.

OG has been great but he could be the 7th best defensive player in the league and leading the poll because Raptors fans always stand by their guys, never criticize the team, and band up against other players who are competition.

They do the SEC football thing where you throw everything behind supporting the conference and show a strong united front in all situations

Lol I will not deny that I post quite a bit about him.

I'd say the majority of my posts are about him. Only positive things the Sixers really have going for them apart from Maxey.

Hopefully my guy Timelord enters this convo as the year progresses. Sounds like he's making his season debut tomorrow.
Gonna miss KP but he's no Georges Niang.

It's going to be a rough start with two games against the league's hottest new championship contender.

Evan Mobley is a better defensive player than Jarrett Allen and also better than half the guys on this list.
