Who is talking when they’re down 46? Like ever? They’re just going to point at the scoreboard. Practically that makes no sense. Furthermore, what makes booker unlikeable? A 6th seed added Kyrie and you're talking about the rivalry becoming lopsided. Many people don't even think they are contenders after the trade and you think it compares to an already contender adding KD.

We could always refresh, what’s the record in their new respective rosters? So far it’s 1-0 Suns. There’s some obstacles for the Mavs to worry about in the playoffs:

1-0 in a close game is a completely insignificant sample size. A close regular season win against a team that embarrassed you is worthless in the s**t talking spectrum. For Booker, this should be a shrug, let’s win the next game and avenge last years loss when it matters.

As a neutral observer, guys can talk trash whenever they want. To say "only in XYZ context" is silly .... And actually the idea you should NOT trash talk when winning is actually opposite of what makes sense. If anything, trash talking when you're down is a bit ridiculous - but again, players can do what they want. I find it childish when players complain about the actions of another player ... particularly in this case.

But with KD on board and bowing out early, Booker should be thinking big picture. This should be a solid win and (given their ultimate goal) a small hurdle

Highly competitive professional athletes, who are among the best in the world at what they do, can talk trash to each other. Fans shouldn’t get butthurt either way. Unfortunately, too many fans turn into fanboys.
