Remember this will be a 2022/2023 trade so have to use this year's salaries, but yes still way short. I think Gallinari (opted in for 23/24) & Muscala (guaranteed for 23/24) is enough to get it done.

WTF is Memphis doing? They decided they don't want to keep Dillion Brooks and now they aquired one more guy that has no self awareness on offense and keeps jacking up 3's in crucial moments even if he is not hitting them. Amazing...

Disagree, they got more injury prone, lost their defensive heart in Smart, and broke up the Tatum/Brown/Smart core.

Probably knew that had to get right of one of Brown or Smart, but seems like they werent going to do that, as they were going to trade Brogdon.

Boston isn’t being smart on this one.

Actually, the deal is okay— i just wanted to start with that sentence

Sure, Smart’s value is leadership and defense and all that jazz but if they are trusting the Jays still this send a message to both stars that this is indeed their team now (especially to Tatum)

Acquiring Porzingis also means that they are expecting a drop off from Horford’s play as he’s 50 years old already. A Williams-Porzingis frontcourt is a very good defensive combo…

I like it for Boston… and at the same time, this is great for Memphis. The same leadership we’re pointing to, that Boston is losing? They need that to contain the JaDrama so in that aspect alone, it’ll help the young Grizzlies.

You understand that since Smart has entered the league he has been on zero title teams. Obviously teams can win without him.

I want to see the protections on that 2024 pick. Memphis can't be dumb enough to not protect that thing with Ja Morant being out a quarter of the year.
