What a steal for OKC. Makes sense for both teams though. Only silver lining for opposing teams is that Caruso is in the last year of his deal. Hopefully it’s just a one-year rental.

Either way, Caruso shot a career-high 41% from 3 last year on high volume — almost 5 attempts per. And he’s one of the best perimeter defenders in the game obviously. Slots right into OKC’s starting lineup. Great trade by Presti and a huge pickup for the Thunder.

If OKC can add a big who can rebound they're a clear contender next season.

It also sounds exhausting for SGA to carry and entire offense with zero support.

Can you play Williams with that lineup? If so - that is SMALL with Chet also being SMALL at the 5.

While he will have to handle the ball more Caruso is a much more natural fit next to SGA than Giddy with his shooting.

They still need to figure something out at the Centre position but that is a crazy defensive back court, maybe second only to Boston

OKC cutting future salary. I KNEW IT! They will not resign all of these draft picks they are developing.

I wonder if this means Chicago is not going to re-sign DeRozan.

I don't get why so many people seem to be so down on Giddey. He'll be 22 this year and still has a lot of potential.

Trading him for Caruso makes up for it a bit.

That seems overly harsh. Giddey seems perfectly decent for a number 6 pick. You can argue they should have taken Kuminga or Wagner but it's not that definitive. The much bigger mistake was not keeping Sengun. He would be absolutely perfect for them.

It’s not harsh whatsoever. Giddey is not good at all.

I dont know guys, I still on Giddey Island full stop. Caruso is great role player and should be huge for any contender, He is also 30 years old.

Josh Giddey is 21, he is 6'8 point guard with great passing skills and crafty moves all around. Thats a very good get, I mean, wow, Karnišovas remembered you can do trades in the NBA!

Josh Giddeys main problem was really the fit. Out of all the players in the entire league, Giddey's fit was probably the worst. Yes, he just couldn't shoot and hes on team with SGA and D-dubb, so he is also, not initiating offense a ton. SO they literally made him a spot up shooter.

Also, his shooting wasn't that bad in the past, all the issues impacted him psychologically very bad, you can cllearly see. Opponent fans were booing him, people on this veryforum were calling him pedo, for seriously, a big bunch of nothing. Kid got screwed up all around this season, it was a bit sad.

Alex Caruso is great, but I am not sure what you expect from him? Picks? Are picks better than Giddey? Seriously? I know we are all Peter Griffins here, and we all would rather have a mysterious box, but Giddey is almost just as young as some of these draft prospects today, and the kid showed he could play, just this entire season went as bad for him as it can. Desperately needed a change of scenary, and I am exited to see on another team, where maybe they made him a point guard again.

Caruso probably comes off the bench depending on what they do with their frontcourt. Either way, having SGA, Dort, Jdub, Caruso and Cason Wallace as your PG-SG-SF rotation is both defensively and offensively explosive. Isaiah Joe too.

Just need that frontcourt piece.

They need some wings.

SGA/Caruso/Dort/Williams is 4 dudes 6'5ish or smaller. Who can guard the bigger elite wings? I am sure Caruso and Dort can do a solid job for guards, but elite wings will crush them
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

I expect Caruso will get a deal similar to Lu Dort's.

What an awful move by Chicago. Terrible return for a valued asset.

I don't think Giddey's a plus starter on a playoff team, if at all. Picks would have been a more interesting package for them.

I get it for both teams although I'm not sure how Cason Wallace gets many minutes. I can see Presti dealing Wallace or Dort + pick(s) for a skilled big. Caruso is a nice acquisition but there needs to be a followup deal.

We were making redrafts of that draft in 2023, and GIddey was going higher than he originally went. People seriously underestimating just in how much of terrible spot he was this year, and he is 21, kid look good in previous seasons already.

He is 30 and they suck?

Getting rid of the guy who brings it every night for a mid prospect and no picks isn’t exactly going to help them not suck.

Sure Caruso shouldn’t be untouchable, but at least get some proper value in return.

I would have expected the Bulls to at least get one of OKC's least valued 1sts in this. Great trade for OKC.

Giddey is getting wildly underrated here.

A 30 year old career journeyman guard who is on a good team a fringe starter is not bringing back much more.
