Astonishingly comfortable in his body. If I were the Spurs, I would trust the people who got him to this point conditioning-wise to just continue doing what they've been doing. Bring them onto the Spurs payroll. Switching him on to a typical player regimen might not be the best course of action

Do you, uh... like basketball?

I'll be honest, if I had to choose between a guarantee that Wemby would stay healthy for the rest of his career and a Heat title or two, I'd probably choose the former. Such is the hype he generates for me as a basketball fan. His combination of size, athleticism, and skill is truly a spectacle.

He already is on payroll, they signed him after the draft last year.

3 guys are not well known to me, all other guys are very well known. Oscar Da Silva did play, or do you think his bro has a shot at this team, pretty sure he doesnt... Da Silva, Voigtmann, Obst, Lo, Giffey, Shroeder and Bonga played. Out of all top guys, only Theis and Wagner bros were missing.

Spurs and Wemby have leaned into the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar approach of training. Lean, but strong. Yoga, plyometrics, boxing. Wemby doesn't just lift weights. They have given him tremendous resources, on top of building a new training that opened in 2023. Wemby's body did not look like that before his rookie year. And since he's so tall, they do have to be careful, because he has huge feet and is all limbs.
Remember, for Wemby he is going to have to play 80-100 games annually once they become a playoff contender. That's why I don't understand everyone's desire to go fast with him. His body is going to have to endure a lot.

Disagree, spurs did the right thing tanking last season. They need more talent around him

There have been 14 other guys 7-4 or greater in NBA history. Only 2 have made an allstar game.

Don’t think he’ll catch Jordan who was better and more impactful than LeBron but I think he can pass LeBron and is certainly more advanced / polished at a younger age.

He is looking noticeably stronger than when he was drafted, glad to see his frame has some capacity to fill-out, it will only help him longevity if he can build the appropriate strength for his body type to prevent injury.

Is this because the Heat will try and pry him away in about 7 years so you can have your cake and eat it too?

He's gonna have to have a higher peak than Jordan and it has to be substantial to pass Lebron.
Only way he can pass LeGOAT because we can sure say he won't last past 35 years of age, and if he does, it won't be at an elite level.

???
LeBron's peak is weak, not even near Jordan's. It's debatable whether LeBron is even a top 3 player of all time. Wembanyama can maybe get there but likely will not pass Jordan as the GOAT. He can certainly pass LeBron if he stays healthy.

So an athletic competition gives players advantages when they have better athletic ability?316Hornets wrote:Just goes to show that NBA is mostly about height and dexterity. I'd be shocked if that ever happens again. Between cap rules and talent...just doesn't seem possible.

Who would be the other 2 players you're putting of LeBron?

I feel like some of the reasons you brought up are the reason to go faster with him.
A) He's on a rookie deal right now. In 3 years he's about to be making 50+ million per year and it's gonna be a lot more difficult to add players around him.
B)History is not on his side from a health perspective. No one his size (or close to it) has ever had a long career without any major injuries derailing their career.
Go Knicks!
