You're saying Covid was BS? LOL, you're as bad as Djokovic then. LOL

Again, accomplishment-wise i don't think anyone is passing Novak, such a dominant player spanning in an era where greatness was ripe (Federer, second GOAT, and Nadal) and he even gets a few Ws against the newer generation (Alcaraz). But again, will go down in history as one of the dumbest sportsment because of his anti-vaxx stance. LOL

What changed since back then? Why is he allowed to play everywhere now? Covid is not extinct. I had it 2 times this year already...

Nadal is only 1 year older than Djokovic so don't get the "He beat them when they got old." It definitely doesn't apply vs. Nadal. If anything their record is skewed because so many of their matches came on Clay compared to other surfaces. If Nadal faced Djoko on Hard/Grass 75% of the time which matches the distribution of the tour, the H2H would be very strongly tilted in favour of Djokovic. Since 2013, Novak has won the last 10 matches on Hard/Grass against Nadal and all without dropping a set.

As for Federer, I think he's the best as far as an argument against Novak. And while he was remotely in his prime, he actually held up well against Novak both H2H and in terms of dominance. The issue for Federer, even though I don't like to make era arguments, is he did face weaker competition than Novak did from 2011-2016 with the Big Four all playing well plus Wawrinka. It's not that Fed's era or current era is weak but that period was insanely strong. Novak played over half of his prime against the toughest field in tennis history or at least surely in the last 25 years.

At the end of the day, there is nothing to nitpick with Novak. He was dominant against his rivals, played in a tough era, won the most, and also won every type of tournament.

We really gonna let a debate about the big 3 devolve into COVID anti-vax stuff?

I could never understand why people disliked Novak, at least when compared to Federer and Nadal. Im not a massive tennis fan although I’ve seen him play twice in person. The first time was at the US open, he was playing a nobody and was in control all game so he behaved himself and for the most part kept his composure. Won in straight sets pretty comfortably. Was funny in the post match interview, got a huge ovation.

Then a couple years later I saw him play in Melbourne against Nadal. Once it became clear towards the end of the first set that the crowd were pro-Nadal, he showed his true colours and turned into a complete baby, then started letting out these primal screams toward the crowd every time he won a point, then looked as if he was about to cry when the crowd would boo him for it. And generally made an ass of himself the rest of the match with his behaviour.

Doesn’t help that Federer and Nadal are/were media darlings throughout there career compared to him. I think between that, the Covid thing, pummeling a ball at linesmen out of frustration, retiring early from matches when things aren’t going his way, time wasting when he doesn’t have momentum and his general on court antics, I can see why people don’t love him like they do Federer and Nadal.

Still the greatest ever as it stands right now imo. I wouldn’t stress OP, Novak will be one of those guys that gets his flowers after he retires.

funny thing is that Novak has far more fans worldwide than federer and nadal.

Fake impression that it's otherway around comes from the most influental anglomedia and anglo people being buthurt (they also comprise the fans on most famous stadiums). But that's less then 1/9th of the world population. In the rest of the world Novak is considered the GOAT since several years ago.

Even almost all the former players, some that hated Novak, now say that he is undesputably the best to have ever played, with just a few adding that they like Federer's style better.

Novak is undesputed GOAT of tennis, probably the clearest GOAT case in any sport, and arguably the best athlete to ever play any sport

You nailed it 100%. Not only undisputed GOAT, but the most popular and beloved tennis player at the same time. Because the last time I chacked China, India, Russia, rest of Asia, Africa, are also part of the world.

That’s such a dumb take. He was never an anti vaxxer. He said that he was very particular in what he puts in his body. He has donated millions to fight covid in Serbia.

It's certainly not "undisputed" but he was already the goat before the gold. As DirtyDez said above, his overlap with the other greats only proves how hard it has been for him to achieve what he has. Also, I'm not a fan of him personally. Professionally, yeah, there's dispute, but it shouldn't be loud at this point. He leads both Fed and Nadal head to head and in finals. Rafa is great, and fun, but there is a point of holding his specialization against him. Nadal is 8-2 vs Djoker at Roland-Garros and 3-4 at the other majors. On the surface that's his advantage, but in reality it means he didn't progress far enough to face Djoker off clay. Take one surface off Novak's resume and it doesn't mean much. Take 1 surface off Nadal's and he's not in the conversation.

Not saying what he thinks isn’t crazy. With his self healing he believes in. He was pro choice. He wasn’t those people trying to convince others not to take the vaccine.

Well let's dive into it then, shall we?

1. He is friends with war criminals.
2. He thinks that through "good thoughts", you can make dirty water drinkable.
3. He is, and has always been a literal cheater, going way beyond the serving time allowed (yes, the same was true for Nadal, and yes, the referees were also to blame)
4. He got disqualified once for hitting a ballwoman in the throat with a ball.
5. He is an anti-science, village idiot.
6. His family, including his grandparent, mother and father, had all made totally disrespectful interviews about Federer and Nadal, long before he become the winningest, going back like 20 years.
7. He, just like his fans, always whines about not being liked, and has a tendency to act out on the court against the crowd, because they dare to not like him.
8. As a result, he took on this totally fake, "nice guy" persona that tries way, way too hard outside of those moments, where his true personality shines through.

I could honestly go on and on, but it is BAFFLING how his fans don't understand why people generally don't like him, and why he will most definitely be forgotten way quicker than the other 2, despite having better results. GOATness is two-fold, someone wrote it, you have to have the results, but you gotta have "IT", and he just never had, at least to the extent of the other two. It's not just about the results. People literally decided that MJ is the GOAT over Russell who has better results, largely due to his playing style and charisma (and yeah, playing in a different era).

1. Nadal is friends with the Saudis and Federer residence was in UAE(who have blood on their hands) so they are not innocent if we going by your thought process.
2. Who cares he is not pushing his beliefs on anyone
3. Cheating that’s a joke. Bouncing the ball too much before serve. lol
4. That was an accident which he was obviously remorseful
5. He speaks like 9 languages also not anti science but has wierd ass views on natural health
6. His family said things not him. Also had believe in their son. But he wasn’t disrespectful towards his opponents. Actually fought for players pay. Well liked on tour
7. He used that motivation to become the greatest
8. lol ok

He will always be remembered for winning the most slams, the most 1000s, the most at 1, the most year ends, I could go on etc.

P.S. to compare MJ vs Russel is so intellectual dishonest I mean come one. One is a TEAM sport which teammates matter and the other is an individual sport. There is so much hate it is hilarious

Despite disliking Novak extremely as a personality, I have to agree with most of this. He's a sulky twät of a GOAT, but a GOAT nonetheless.

But, make no mistake, Novak is disliked in plenty of places outside "Anglo" nations.

Might be an entitled brat or salty twat as you say, but when he gets beaten, he never makes excuses and always gives his opponents their flowers afterwards which is one of his redeeming qualities imo. Let’s not act like he’s some insufferable assh*le or bad sport like say Nick Kyrgios and Medvedev, Novak’s a saint compared to those two.

He's 31-29 lifetime vs Nadal. That's hardly "owning" him. By that definition, Nadal really owns Djokovic in Grand Slams. Nadal leads him 11-7 overall in majors and and 5-4 in major finals.

That said, Djokovic definitely has the best case for GOAT. He's so unlikable, though.

Where does the claim that he's more popular worldwide come from?? I've seen him play matches all over the world and he doesn't get nearly the fan support the others did. In fact, it's amazing how often crowds are pulling for his opponent. Just last month, he reprimanded the fans at Wimbledon for cheering too hard for Rune. I found it especially funny they were rooting for Rune over him because Rune is such a brat that he's kicked his mother out of a stadium for not cheering correctly.
