He has a pretty successful podcast. He's relevant in the media world.

What is his podcast about ? firearms ?

I think it's call "Gilbert's Arena" or something like that, not a bad name tbh.

He comes off like an **** in the netflix documentary. I felt bad for Crittenton

The key word is “entertaining” just like Charles Barkley masquerading as an analyst raking millions for his entertainment value while real analysts like Lowe are getting laid off.
I mean, ALL of this is entertainment.

Its not easy to entertain the masses.

Gilbert Arenas has done well for himself. Its not something that all players can successfully replicate though. Gilbert knows how to market himself, always has. He also has the personality.

Yes, the guy acts like he was some incredible superstar with the highest IQ ever...but he's a complete idiot with boneheaded takes.

Dude had a decent career offensively for a couple years, but was not a winner by any means and ruined his career with dumb decisions.

I tried listening to his podcast, but it devolves into them all yelling over one another too often. And Arenas has mostly awful takes.

It's way less interesting than All the Smoke, or Byron Scott's Fast Break, or Mind the Game.

yea most definitley. i should have said, i can see the appeal. im definitley not a regular watcher. the short clips that i see every now and then are enough to remind me not to invest more than 20 seconds on it.

For Gil's podcast, sure. It's a lot less so with some of the other offerings out there.

I watched the "Shooting Guards" documentary and thought it was really good. And yeah Gil was super immature and comes off looking pretty bad. That whole gun incident felt like a skit from Chappelle show "When keeping it real goes wrong".

Hate to break it to you, but Gilbert is black.

Oh so only white people can be racist ?

Very curious to know what Gil has said that would be considered racist.

It's a little early for off season threads

It's the offseason for all but two teams, though.

I really don't understand how Gil's podcast is popular it's the dumbest collection of players having stupid arguments. At least guys like Teague are able to tell funny/entertaining stories even if the actual basketball analysis isn't high level.

Multiple all-NBA, over $100m in career earnings, popular podcast, son is a 5* recruit. Yeah he’s doing fine/relevant.

Easy. Its coming from actual NBA stars who have more insight then talking heads like Screamin A. They also don't take themselves that serious. Is it the greatest basketball analysis ? No. But it for sure is the most entertaining.

Arenas is an imbecile but his stuff fits right in with the terrible state of current NBA coverage. I'm actually surprised ESPN hasn't offered him a spot yet.
