A choice. You dont **** like it nobodys putting a gun to your head or flogging you.

Crazy thing is there's actual slavery going on to this day and this dude makes millions talking about it being slavery.

I honestly think people who say **** like this have never actually read a history book about what happened to slaves

Hell not to long ago you had a certain king Leopold who to this day lives on in terror over there in Congo.

Dennis is an idiot.

i would like him back as a laker though.

Preach brother, this dude is a high level idiot. I cannot stand these entitled pieces of garbage who use slavery or black suffrage as a metaphor to their rich pampered life. I'm glad this pos lost all of that money "betting on himself".

Why don't these clowns who whine about trades sign one year deals with their team. Then they have a built in veto power.

Oh wait, then they don't get guaranteed money. That's why. But sure, modern day slavery brah.

DS is only a journeyman. He had nothing but legal issues during his tenure with Atlanta and remmeber he turned down four-year, $84 million from the Lakers.

He's a real winner!

Yeah, significant differences.

Like the player can refuse to go and just retire from the league instead of getting chained and horsewhipped. That would be a rather significant difference.

But other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln.

I'll never forget his contributions to Germany winning the world cup but the dude is just so hard to root for. What an idiotic thing to say. These dudes make more in one year than most people will make in their life. Sometimes you better shut up, but thinking before talking was never his strength..

He is german, maybe he needs to be educated on what slavery was actually like in this country so he realizes what a dumb statement that was.

Like I said. Personal experiences lens everything a person understands and sees. If youre disagreeing with that statement, I don't think you much wisdom.

It's kinda funny how you attribute understanding to a feminine quality. I bet you're a great conversationalist.
Psychotic. It didn’t make sense. I don’t know how you make it make sense

First and foremost, this is a massive slap across the face to all the past and present slaves across the world - just an utterly shameful and disgusting thing to say.

To give him the slight benefit of the doubt, I understand what he is trying to convey in his little pea-brain, but he was so off to mark that he deserves all the criticism that comes his way. Some people just needs to replay what they intend to say back in their mind, before opening their mouth because boy, was it a stupid remark. Does it make him a bad person? No. But he has done a fantastic job of coming off as a total moron.

What's even funnier is if it had any conviction he'd retire and walk away from slavery, and yet, he will continue to subject himself to slavery as he calls it, put on a jersey, and continue to get his millions, living in luxury.
Why so serious?

Dennis is a complete idiot. Surprise surprise he thinks collecting millions of dollars to do a job that you KNEW prior to getting that job that this might be an aspect of said job that is not easy for all parties involved.
Don't like it? Quit your job.

Extremely stupid statement, but I'm sure it's very difficult for these athletes to have so much money, admiration, and even power ( because of their money and fame), but still have a major piece of their life up to the whim of the GM/ owner. It's probably just a mind f*ck for these guys. Not feeling sorry for them, just saying I get why athletes say stuff like this every now and then. Because part of human nature is to want every drop of "freedom" or control of your own life you can get.

Didn’t this dork walk away from a long term $20+m contract w/Lakers because he thought he was worth more?
