You dont understand the mind set of these european players. He felt at home, feels like he got stabbed in the back. He did never agree to play in LA, to be there. Y'all just expect him to swallow being pushed around because LeBron had AD traded out. Well bad news for you, hes not that guy. He wont bow to Reddick, LeBron or anyone else. He will pick where he wants to play, under his terms and with the team he wants, not the one LeBron picked. Once he's there, he will be in shape and lead them to the finals, possibly a title.

He will not be in shape. He does what he wants, he is a big kid. Going to go binge drinking in Slovenia this summer and eating grilled ribs with potato salads and just gaining fat.

He plays, and if he wants to, he wins. That should be all that matters. This isnt a beauty contest.

you think Luka is out of shape now, wait until you see what he looks like next season. He usually shows to camp overweight and out of shape and gets into shape as the season progresses because he parties very hard (as is his right if that's what he wants to do) during the Summer back home. But he's entering the Summer in his worst shape ever so unless he stays stateside and works with a trainer and has a chef he's going to look awful.

Lol, you`re clearly a fanboy. So Luka wins when he wants to? He just got beaten in 5 games in the 1st round. Very winnable games, where he was clearly too gassed to make the change needed to win. He doesn`t win now because he can`t, he isn`t that good or impactful.

This was Luka last year when he had time to work out and was in his best shape since bubble and no injuries.

Since 2020, he has also spent most summers training with the national team and competing in the Olympics/ FIBA World Cup/FIBA Eurobasket. The narrative that he doesn't train in the summer is pushed only by those who are uninformed or do it on purpose.

The only time he arrived out of shape was after the bubble. This year, he had a calf injury in training camp (which he re-injured on Christmas) and that did feed into the narrative. Because for some "out of shape = injury" and "injury = out of shape".

That strained calf certainly hasn't slowed him down from making extra trips to the buffet and bar.

Video posted by nba during that calf strain in pre-season. Looks really out of shape to me. I hope my trips to the buffet and bar make me look like that.

That being said, he should aim to be better next season

lakers are going to be shocked when doncic refuses to resign when time comes.
they are digging their own grave.
luka knows the lakers are part to blame for him getting traded. and now they want to **** on him after 1st rd exit??

reddik is a conceited asshat who couldnt figure out how to render gobert unplayable in the playoffs like we have seen opposing coaches do in the past.
hell, thats why utah traded him to begin w/.

next yr lebron retires and luka leaves....lakers in shambles.

Shaq is the only player in history to achieve all-time greatness and win titles with suboptimal work ethic and conditioning. Other than him as the rare exception it appears impossible.

Barkley also

Both would have had even more impressive careers had they spent more time in the gym and had better habits.

Just like Luka, I don't have a lot of respect for Shaq or Barkley either. I'm a believer that one should work their hardest to maximize their talents and gifts in life. None of these guys did / have.

This should cost Redick his job. He was the one who went away from what worked in the regular season and slashed Hayes' minutes against that huge Minnesota front line and this comes off as a deflection of the blame that should be aimed at him. Luka can leave next offseason if he wants, saying this in public is foolish

he's right about Luka. probably wrong to say it now and say it publicly. risks making Luka want out of this arranged marriage, but JJ probably feeling the hot seat so is trying to deflect. if so, JJ probably not the right coach post-Lebron anyway.

Luka might want out of LA before the fanbase turns on him because of his weight issues.

It is funny how clowns like you two would quickly proclaim Luka Lakers best player when it goes well and suddenly he is somehow a scapegoat for 40-year old LeBron...

Nico was right about the trade but wrong about the price. And only marginally so. If he'd gotten Giannis for Luka, I don't think anyone bats an eyelid
