This. Playing NBA 5x5 ball is a whole different game. You're either going to be a 1st or 2nd option or fill one of the many specific roles that teams have. Some consider Beasley a scrub or a bust, but he simply never found his niche and never found out how to be efficient. It happens to a lot of players.
Lance Stephenson's particular NBA role was with the Pacers. That's where he looked like a bonafide 6th man. He wasn't suitable in any other role on any other team. Curry is arguably one of the easiest superstars to play alongside. Yet Kuminga is unplayable on Curry's team, while he looks like a solid NBA contributor without him.
Some guys never find their spot, despite having all of the tools and being just as good or better than other NBA guys.
