he is obviously hurt and trying to play through it...he isn't good enough, big enough or smart enough to play an effective game when his body is broken...and when I say smart comes from experience...he can learn...but its not now

His entire playoff run is overrated. 17.9ppg on 57%TS does not call for all the air time this guy has received. Yes he had some big moments with clutch shots, but the guy's ability to create offense is nothing special.

Even healthy, the guy has a massive hole in his skillset/athleticism. He's an above average point guard, nothing more.

that makes huge shots at huge moments and can control the game without getting turn overs...

HE IS ACTUALLY THE BEST PLAYER ON A FINALS TEAM.... the hate is irrational.

He is not their best player. Pascal Siakam is because he can impact both ends of the floor in high leverage situations.

Great that Halitrash can "control the pace of the game" while protecting the ball. So can Mike Conley.

ok but I don't think this team is here if Pascal is the leader of the team. Pascal is good...but he isnt here without Hali.

NO ONE HAS HAD A BETTER BIG SHOT RUN THAN HALI this year...

he just isn't so good and so experienced that he can be effective when he is not 100%....

look there is something to be said about doing it when it matters most...Hali delivers in high leverage moments!

honestly who would you rather have the ball with 15 seconds at the top of the key than Hali?

No, regardless of the false narrative that Doris was pushing during the game.

Giannis played in the Finals a few years ago on a hyper extended knee.
On his first game, it was obvious.
20/17/4.
20pts on 6/11 shooting. By his standards it was a bad game.
Guess what happened next though.
35.2/ 13.2/ 5.0 throughout the series.
Injured. That was probably the greatest Finals performance since the Tim Duncan's 2003 Finals.

There are levels. Haliburton is not a top10 player because top10 players do what Giannis did in the Finals. Injured or not.
Haliburton is definitely pretty good. Not top10 good though and that's ok. People trying to make him something that he isn't are not doing him any favours.

He’s not even close to top ten.

Halitrash going off results in about 20 points lol

Why can’t it just be left at that? Nobody is saying otherwise. It’s also true that this really, really bad game doesn’t change the fact that he had a great playoff run with some all time clutch performances. And I’d still say he’s better than a lot of guys that were typically ranked ahead of him coming into the playoffs.

Man so many people just waiting on guys to play bad so they can pile on and make it seem like they’re garbage, overrated, etc. Not to mention the fact that he’s going up against a historically good defense that’s been doing this to a bunch of people.

You want to talk about what’s wrong with the modern NBA? It’s not a lack of defense, it’s not 3pt spamming, it’s not super teams, it’s not diva superstars, it’s not the way the NBA markets itself…it’s all of you losers that pounce on any opportunity to call players trash just because you’re bitter that someone else gets more attention or props than your favorite player, so you make it your mission to tear them down any chance you get.

So much of this.

That's what a top 1-2 player does. Giannis has been one of the 3 best players in basketball for the better part of a decade. Why must this be the standard we hold Haliburton to?

Hali is clutch, efficient, and a great playmaker. He is also a bit inconsistent, and really comes alive in some important moments. I don't know exactly where I'd rank him (maybe top 12ish?), but he is the most important player on a team in the NBA finals (over Siakam imo), and dude deserves most of the praise he's received in getting here.

Eh. Quite a few on the GB didn't care when 4 of the Cavs top 5 players tried to play hurt just 2 rounds ago.

What goes around, comes around, i suppose.

You realize that saying would only apply to those doing the bashing, right? Were those people Haliburton and Pacers fans?
I was at Gainbridge Fieldhouse lol and i can tell you not a single Pacers fan in that arena cared that the Cavs were hurt lol

If Hali can somehow lead a team to the finals 10 times he will go down as one of the greatest NBA players of all time.
My exact thought lol

Playing hurt, obviously not physically right. Surviving the grind is part of it and a horrible performance regardless, but the need to pile on knowing what your eyes are seeing? Needing to bash a guy who is clearly struggling physically out there is pretty sad and pathetic.

Oh is he the first ever player to be playing through something in the playoffs?

Where was this energy for a guy like Embiid playing on a torn meniscus last year? That’s right he got no sympathy

Now we’re supposed to give it to Hali?
