I kind of get it for Washington though. You have Sarr, Bilal, Bub, Kyshawn, AJ and this year's pick. You have quality vets around them in Middleton, Smart and CJ. These are culture changing moves and then the organization will have 100mm in capspace in 2026. They could go from **** to competitive rather quickly with another quality young big added to the roster.

Plus, New Orleans has no PG with Murray out. I know CJ isn't really a point guard, but he could handle the position at times. Poole can't.

It's a smart move by Washington. They get rid of a low BB IQ player in Poole and save money.

In less that two seasons the new front office has been able to get rid of both the Kuzma and Poole deals. That alone is commendable, but I think they've also shown an eye for talent. I like what they're doing.

Solid trade for the Wiz. Let's them be a major player in FA next summer and opens up minutes and touches for Bub/any lotto guards.

I'm meh on it from a Pels standpoint. I get the thinking. Next year's a write-off, so let's see if we can develop Poole into a long-term piece. I just doubt it works.

I think the Pels were more interested in keeping a big salary spot for trade purposes next year, as it didn’t seem likely to happen this year. Next season they’d have an expiring Poole, Murray with a year after hus return etc. letting CJ walk for nothing wasn’t likely to do much, and they wanted a high volume 3 point shooting guard.

I do think Poole is a lot more useful than he looked in Washington if he’s a few notches down the totem pole. If the Pels are reasonably healthy(lol) he might be closer to his Warrior days than to what he had to be as the main option.

I don’t think pick #40 is insignificant either. We have 7, 23, and 40 tomorrow.
