I didn’t see Steven’s being able to pull any magic out of that one. He’s an expiring that is can’t be counted on to stay healthy.

Trae finally gets a stretch 5. Hopefully KP can stay healthy for 1 season. If he plays 50 games this is a huge win. Don't like giving up 22, but unloading Mann's terrible contract is a bonus.

I get the feeling like they will do a retool around the Jays for 2027.

Yeah Tatum, Brown, White, Pritchard is still a nice core to build around.

Probably Xavier Tillman or pick #28, doesn't really matter. Celtics are not trying to win next season.

I have to say, Porzingis has at this point to be the most talented player of all time that got traded multiple times for basically a diet coke and a bag of chips.

February 10, 2022: Traded by the Dallas Mavericks with a 2022 2nd round draft pick (Yannick Nzosa was later selected) to the Washington Wizards for Davis Bertans and Spencer Dinwiddie. 2022 2nd-rd pick is DAL own

June 23, 2023: As part of a 3-team trade, traded by the Washington Wizards to the Boston Celtics; the Boston Celtics traded Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies; the Boston Celtics traded Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala and Julian Phillips to the Washington Wizards; the Memphis Grizzlies traded Marcus Sasser and a 2024 1st round draft pick (Bub Carrington was later selected) to the Boston Celtics; and the Memphis Grizzlies traded Tyus Jones to the Washington Wizards. 2023 top-4 protected pick is GSW own

No. Hauser probably next and I'm hoping that's the end of it.

That's what I'm thinking, but they will hold out for really good value on Sam at most likely the trade deadline.

They did what they needed to shedding Jrue and KP contracts to get under the apron. Now they'll use Simmons and Hauser to add assets for 26-27.

Tatum, Brown, White and PP are the core they'll hold onto. Everyone else has a price.

I'd say they don't rush him back either. He just had surgery too. Wait until Thanksgiving to bring him back.

I approved trade of Holiday, but this one sucks hard. Basically just economic relief.

I wonder when the team actually needs to be below the apron in order to not have to face the penalties? Otherwise a guy like Porzingis on an expiring contract can be an attractive trade deadline piece - where you might even be able to get someone to overpay. In any event, now that this deal is complete it makes sense for all parties and no one got screwed.

By the time Tatum is back he will have nothing to play with

Tatum will come back to play with Brown, White and Prichard. They should be still competitive. They also should have Simons (if not get traded again), Niang and probably Kornet.

Considering KP was always injury and Jtue was missing many games, its not a huge drop.

In tomorrow's draft. That's CRAZY.

Also the 36th pick in the 2nd round. I'd think they'd want to keep 3 rookie prospects on guaranteed contracts at most so we'll see what other moves they have

The second Tatum got injured, anyone who knew anything about the new CBA knew this was coming. The Celtics weren't going to pay all of that tax money unless they had a real chance to compete for a championship. They'll still have Tatum, Brown, White and Pritchard long term. Might as well take the year off, hope for lottery luck like the Mavs or Warriors, and reload for 2026-2027. Smart move.

This is kind of the inverse of the Holiday trade. That one brought pretty good value and a small amount of cap relief, this one brings lots of cap relief and a tiny amount of value.

They're under the second apron currently, but I would be interested to know if they can stay under the second apron just by filling out their roster with minimums or if they would need to cut another salary to do so.

They might dump him for a tpe. If him and Hauser can be dumped, they are out of luxury tax completely.

I can only hope. I won't watch Niang suit up for the Celtics. I can't.

Pretty obvious stuff like half the GB called Jrue and KP being dumped, awhile back.
