I think people are too high on the Bucks and too low on the Pacers.
Yet there are people in this thread that think the Cavs will only win 45 games hahahah

If they're healthy I can't seem them not winning 50. likely 55-58 in this weak conference.
Yup. I don't even care if they get the #1 seed or win 60+ games. Cavs have been good to great for 4 regular seasons in a row and have nothing to show for it.

I'd say aim for top 4 in the conference but honestly if the Cavs at least secure a 6 seed, to avoid the play-in, as long as they're healthy, that is what matters.

But Kenny's offense and player rotations are conducive to racking up a lot of regular season wins. So, like you said, I'm sure the Cavs are in for another solid regular season.

I honestly have no idea. So many teams with injuries and question marks. Cavs and Knicks seem to be front runners. Magic and Pistons seem next tier. Kind of open after that.

I wouldn’t argue against putting us & Cleveland in a separate tier, but I think Orlando will be right there with us and Detroit is one semi-big move away from the same tier…something like Harris + Holland + 26 FRP for Markannen…so they can keep pace in the regular season even without that move.

Edit:
And I think I’ve talked myself into Indy jumping into the same tier as the bucks and heat. Nembhard - Nesmith - Mathurin - Toppin - Siakam, + TJ, Sheppard, Walker, & Huff/Jackson could win 45+ games.

Top-12 payroll in the league (among teams that are clearly contending).

What does this even mean other than not top 12? They're like ~16 the in the league overall, which puts the, at about at slightly less than 0.500 odds by salary.

But they are number one in total payroll for team cities starting with the letters T-Z, and that's about a third of the alphabet, so basically top 3.

New York
Orlando
Philly (all depends on Embiid playing 60ish games)
Detroit
Atlanta
Toronto
Milwaukee

Indiana
Miami

Teams 4 through 10 are so close that this list is subject to change based on any additional moves this offseason.

Thought it was a good list just to be clear (just nitpicking)! :D

Surprised to see how much hype Orlando is getting from everyone incl. Vegas. No shade to the Magic just not sure how much the Bane acquisition moves the needle. Loved Paolo's start to last season though, so hopefully a fully healthy year ahead.

I dunno what to make of Toronto, but I think Miami has a really nice frontcourt around Herro/Powell, while Indiana still has a lot of talent…really like the Huff pickup & think Wallace / Mathurin could really shine for them this year…plus a great coach, and a tough style.

No worries, was just expanding on my thoughts.

Some of it is also that Orlando has just been hammered by injuries the past two years. So if they get better health, that could make even more of a difference than adding Bane. Nevermind their kids developing further…I like Black a lot.

That defense is no joke & softened Boston up for us.

Tier 1- Proven regular season teams - Knicks and Cavs
Tier 2 - Teams that were good that got a lot better or didn’t take a step back - Magic, Hawks, Pistons
Tier 3 - Playoff contenders that are another injury away from the lottery - Bucks, Pacers, Celtics
Tier 4 - Play-in/lottery teams that get better/healthier - Raptors, Heat, 76ers
Tier 5 - Date night with Adam Silver - Wizards, Hornets, Nets, Bulls

I’m more meh on that backcourt though both Herro & Powell can put points on the board, but I like what they’re working with in the frontcourt. You guys torched them, but I really like the Ware / Bam / Jovic trio’s potential and Wiggins / Jaquez / Highsmith / whoever I’m forgetting, is some nifty depth at the 3…especially if they can get Wiggins right.
