No thanks. I'd rather we keep Allen. There's no need to swap a player for more positional redundancy.

I'd say guard is not a need at all for the Hornets lol
LOL put all those guys together and you get one guard for half a season

Why would the Celtics do this?

The guy's name being "Wolveswin" should provide a clue.

The funny part is, this deal doesn't even make any sense for the Wolves...

Hmm, not sure i agree.hauntedcomputer wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Ain't no way 6 guys are going to play only 6.8 games a piece lolhauntedcomputer wrote:

Was talking quality, not quantity

Sixers In 4 apparently doesn't realize that it's easier to move $27m than is to move $70m, which will be over $100m if the player option is accepted.Capn'O wrote:Sixers in 4 wrote:More evidence this was a bad deal for Portland. Shouldn't we wait until we see the deal, if one even materializes?

I’m still pretty sus on the Portland deal as well, but that being said, we should wait to see what / if anything, they get for Simons.
Also, this could just be them calling to get an idea about his value. They likely don’t want to resign him, so this is more likely the Celtics calling to get a baseline idea of his trade value for a potential deadline move. If they know what teams already have interest, they can reach back out to them in-season.
As for trade value, Simons should be much easier to move than Jrue, they got lucky Portland was actually motivated and interested in taking him on since they are hoping to replicate the CP3 in OKC situation for Scoot. But Simons expiring deal likely will hamper his value as he’s likely just a rental for most teams.
The Celtics need to find a team who’s motivated to trade for AND resign him (or work a extend and trade) to get the best value.
Simons is an interesting test case imo. He's kind of in the middle class that’s getting killed with the new CBA. He's has an elite scoring talent and can shoot from anywhere, but he’s not proven to be a near All Star caliber player. This 20-25mil is probably what he should stay at, but he’s probably going to expect more in the 30 range, which pushes him into overpaid. Not sure who’s out there that wants to foot that bill for a guy who’s a elite shooter, decent passer, piss-poor defender and somewhat injury prone.

Portland has a direction now. Mulitple starting positions are set for long-term while Bostons new ownership looks clueless. The exception is that they want money off their books.
