Could be serviceable as a 12th man locker room guy. I don't really see it though, 33 year old shooting guard who's not a good shooter and hasn't played an NBA game in 2.5 years.. there's better options out there.

His issue is mainly his lack of playoff experience. That's what teams look for when they bring in locker room guys. I'd love to see him in LA on 2 way contract mentoring Bronny
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Dipo is way beyond being eligible for a two-way lol he has played 10 seasons. After being in the NBA for 4 seasons, guys can no longer sign two-way deals.

The lone exception i can think of off the top of my head is Dylan Windler, he was granted a 5th season of eligibility. Windler was promptly out of the league before his 6th season in the NBA could even start.

Bob Cousy had a brief little return about 7 years after he first retired. Came back for Cincinnati, played 7 games at age 41, sucked a lot of ass. Magic, obviously, had like half a season return in 96 before Malone and everyone else bitching about his HIV caused him to retire. Shame, too, because next season, Shaq hit the Lakers in FA.

But like you mentioned earlier, Jordan wasn’t already injured and sucking. I just feel like we always hear about these every few years, and the guys never even come back as rotation players

Yep. Once you're done, you're pretty done. Especially if you're a guard who relied on athleticism and never had really major mid-range game or shooting ability as a calling card, and no real size.

Oladipo could definitely shoot. Even before he got in crazy shape during the 2017 off-season.

Shawn Livingston and Grant Hill

Grant Hill played 591 games after the injury he suffered as a Piston. It took him a while to get healthy, and then he had three-straight seasons of 80+ games (including an 82-game season) later on in his career. He was TWICE an All-Star after the injury, and was a very valuable roleplayer for the Suns. He even showed significant defensive improvement in his late 30s, and developed a 3ball in low volume (from the corner).

He's an awful example to match up with Oladipo; he's a good example of a SUCCESSFUL comeback. He just wasn't back at his full level of dominance. He had to shift gears and become something else.

Grant Hill was a great player for us and despite no longer having the lift or the speed, he contributed solidly. He was also universally liked both as a player and a person. He's a major part of the reason the Suns made a run to the WCF with Nash et al but fell just a bit short thanks to some late game heroics and lucky bounces for the Lakers.

Exactly.

He was okay. Through 2019, he was a career 35.2% 3pt shooter on the back of 2017 and 2018. He had pretty awful short game, and otherwise what was mostly a mediocre shorter mid-range game. And for a few seasons before his injuries took their toll, he had a decent longer jumper. He also shot under 39% on what b-ref would collectively call "jump shots," and his career averages from 10-16 and 16-23 aren't remarkable (though again, sort of 2016-2019, the longer J looks pretty good).

He was okay as a shooter, mostly, but with weaknesses in the breadth of his game and from 3 (took a minute for him to even shoot 35%, for example). That said, I imagine he'd have looked a little better from 3 if he'd enjoyed what late-career Grant Hill did, of course: a diet of assisted 3s from the corner probably would have helped, because Victor was decent from the corners (and better than decent from 2016-18).
