Who is going to give up a meaningful player for a "prospect" with no upside left after year 4? He is below average in rebounding, efficiency, is shooting just 30% from 3. He kinda is who he is at this point. I don't see him being traded for anything that moves the needle.

If Kuminga can play that's a bonus. But even if he can't play it's not a negative value contract and he's a $22.5 mil expiring contract that you can attach assets to. Warriors are full of giant and tiny contracts, which really limited their ability to match salaries in trade for a player making $25-30 mil. Now they can make those trades - and I'm sure those post-Steph Curry draft picks will be of interest to teams.

he is getting shipped in Jan. We are basically paying him to keep the salary high enough to bring back a meaningful player that can help Steph's chance to win.

Well Dunleavy turned Andrew Wiggins into Jimmy Butler and found multiple rotation players in the late first and second rounds. I think Warriors fans and players are pretty happy with the FO.

Simply a better-fitting role player will benefit the Warriors, and won't cost picks. The main problem with Kuminga is he's been a bad fit for a Steph Curry-Steve Kerr system.

It’s a good contract for the Warriors. Extremely tradable due to the team option.

However, this still doesn’t solve their long term issue.

He plays the Jordan Poole role. Come in and put up volume shots on low efficiency when Curry and/or Butler need to rest during the season.

After his rookie season, Poole was a 58.4 TS% guy as a Warrior. Last season with Washington, he was at 59.1 TS%, all above average, but I don't know what his numbers with/without Steph or whomever looked like.
