Faked an injury? He faked out an MRI scan? From the same article everyone is whining about-

'O’Neal injured his hip diving for a loose ball against Utah on Dec. 22. He returned Jan. 16 but was sidelined again five days later. An MRI showed inflammation in the left hip, shutting him down from all basketball activity.'

meanwhile he disses his teammates as he continues on to another elite team... And yet everyone still wants to point fingers at Kobe?

Disses who? J Williams?

hypocrites.

No we're not. Laker fans are still whining about Shaq several years later. We're grateful for a championship while you guys try to pretend he did nothing for yours.

Who cares if he is directly dissing Wade, the point is that he is definitely insulting every player who played point guard with him the past six years. One day I hope Shaq grows up and stops trying to put down everyone else to make himself look better, as if his decline was due to other people's faults and not his own.

Shaq said that he hasnt gotten an easy bucket in 6 years... How is that not an insult to Wade? Its not just the pg's job to set up his teammates, its Wades job as well. And for Shaq to come out and say he hasnt ever gotten an easy bucket playing next to Wade has got to be a indirect shot at him.

And you talked about his injury... What suddenly happened that he's fine and able to help the Suns? Why wasnt he ready and willing to help the Heat? Is he just that much of a baby that as soon as the team is doing bad he's more than willing to jump ship and blame other people?

And this is what Wade said just after the trade:

Ball Don't Lie:Let's start with the big news from last week. Shaq goes to Phoenix; Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks join you in Miami. What were you doing when you first heard the news?

Wade: Well, I actually heard it from Shaq first. I was talking to him on the phone and he made me aware of the possibilities of it. That's when I first heard it. I think I was on my way to Detroit. Him and I have a great relationship. He told me that if anything happened that he loved me and that he appreciated everything I had done for him, and vice versa. So, you know, no hard feelings at all there, man. We know that it's a business and that things happen.

So Shaq personally thanked Wade for what he did for him at this point of his career. I am sure this "no easy bucket in 6 years" phrase was taken out of context.

Exactly. Grateful, but glad he's gone because he was declining too fast and got lazy.

And some laker/kobe fans are itching for Shaq to completely diss Miami, Wade, Arison, etc. it's hilarious

It's an impressive move and a hell of a pass, I'm just saying it shouldn't have counted. I'm sure Kobe could throw down a monster dunk if he carried the ball like a running back to the hoop (LEBRON), but it wouldn't be legal.

It's amazing how you can pullsomething negative out of nothing. He's never played with a point guard like Nash PERIOD.

He didn't say anything about anyone else, but Nash. You guys are unbelievable.

I think you can't take it out of context. He has never had a PG like Nash. TRUE!!! I was telling Steve I have not had an easy bucket in 6 years is just a silly friendly comment to Steve. Snaq lives off easy buckets. That is simply Snaq having fun with the media like he always does. For people to take this out of context is silly.

I am not a Snaq fan at all and would tell him to his face how he is bum and he should have been in shape in Los Angeles and not such an ass but this is not disrespectful to anyone, and in the worst case simply true.

This is absolutely false, and in the past I've posted their respective numbers in each playoff run minus the Finals to prove it. At best, Kobe was the MVP of one series vs. SA and about Shaq's equal in another SA series. That's it. Kobe was not better than Shaq for an entire WC playoff run in any of the championship years.

By numbers? Unlike Jordan's accolades from the 80's or Wilt's superhuman games from the 60's the majority of people on this forum were around to WATCH those Laker games live. We don't need your "numbers" to tell us that Kobe was MVP during several of those playoff runs.

Let's not forget that the Shaq led teams had a history of getting pick and rolled out of the playoffs before Kobe became the starter. Had it not been for Kobe's defense we would have singlehandedly lost to Mike Bibby, Tony Parker, and Troy Hudson just like Stockton killed us before.
Want more proof? Youtube those games against SAC, SA, HOU, MIN, or POR to refresh your memory. Watch the perimeter defense, watch Kobe destroying Scottie Pippen, watch who the Lakers DON'T go to when the game is close in the 4th quarter (Shaq).... Watch and learn, it'll do you some good.
"I'm sure they'll jump off the bandwagon. Then when we do get back on top, they're going to want to jump back on, and we're going to tell them there's no more room." - Kobe in March of 2005

I didn't say he wasn't terrific, I just said he was the "leader." Kobe has his best chance to prove everyone wrong this year, though.

Come on Mang , dont dig up old dirt ....Please .

Kobe had just as much as Shaq had to do with those championships .

Honestly not to start a pissing match and I could really care less as to who did what , but I would give more props to Kobe and the entire team than I would to Shaq .

Shaw , Horry , Grant , Fish etc .

Funny how everyone outside of the Laker camp always gives credit to Shaq for all our titles .

Even In Miami .............
Shaq wasnt the reason Miami won the chip , it was because of Wade , Zo , and the supporting cast ....Not Shaq ....

Nice joke, because I am sure you are not giving more credit to ancient Horace Grant and some scrubs over the man who gave Lakers 25-30 ppg and 13-20 rebounds in every playoff series. And if you do then Lakers fans never deserved to have prime Shaq in their team.

lead their respective teams to championships?

+1

Kobe and Wade both didnt lead their respective teams to championships, unless playing second fiddle to Shaq is considered "leading". Without Shaq, Kobe wouldnt have any rings and Wade certaintly wouldnt have any rings. Nash hasnt had that oppertunity yet so chill out. Lets say the Suns do win this year do you think the majority of people will say that Nash is the reason they won this year after failing for the past couple of years? No people will say the arrival of Shaq forced them to change the style of play which led them to a championship.

Joke ..........

I dont know where in my post I was telling a joke , but Im sure since you know so much about basketball and you think Horace Grant is ancient , maybe you were too young to even watch Grant play when he won his titles with Chicago or even players like Shaw, Rice , etc .
Horace Grant won titles with the Bulls and the Lakers .
Oh and lets not forget John Salley won rings with Pistons and Lakers . Horry with the Rockets , Lakers , and Spurs .
Maybe even Ron Harper who won titles with the Bulls and the Lakers .

If Shaq was the main reason for the titles , then why wasnt he able to get it in Orlando or even before Kobe came to LA ?

Also if you were able to see the Miami Finals , why was Wade the Finals MVP and not Shaq , why was Zo on the court most of the series and not Shaq .

The credit never falls on one player specially in a game thats played with 5 players on one team and one court , yet these players which include Kobe and Wade and supporting cast HELPED Shaq in his achievements to get to titles .

Not just Shaq .

They didnt do WHAT ?

Are you kidding me , the only reason Shaq saw a ring is because of Kobe and Wade .
Second fiddle , Shaq deserves his credit for those titles , but if you think he got those title on his own , then your a fool cause he didnt .

Ya Einstein , you can say the same thing about Shaq too , if he didnt have Wade and Kobe he wouldnt have any rings either .
Thats why it took him almost 7 years to earn that title since he came in the league , and thats after they signed Kobe and Kobe became Kobe .

Scalabrine wrote:-= original quote snipped =-

He hasnt had the opportunity for what , he has one of the best lineups surrounding him , I mean it doesnt get any better than Amare and Barbosa , S.Marion G.Hill or do you want me to take it back a few years too , like when he was in Dallas ........

Okay , BUT lets say they dont , lets say they lose in the first round.
Then what , who is to blame there ?
Shaq , Nash ......... Who ?

You dont make sense and neither does your posts .

For you guys to give credit to Shaq and Shaq alone is seriously funny .
