While I don't agree that Kobe is doing anything by himself, you neglect to mention that Kobe has picked up his play in other areas. In the 4th, he's averaging 2.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists, noting that he typically only plays the final 8 minutes. The amount of free throws (and players he's fouled out) also deserves consideration. You can't just pull out a single stat in an attempt to imply that a player performs poorly in the 4th when there are many more aspects to the game of basketball.

Why is Game 7 of Spurs-Hornets on Monday night instead of tonight or even tomorrow?

I wonder why as well. The Celtics and Cavs get one day of rest while the Spurs and Hornets get three. That's unfair.

Kobe's TS% through the playoffs has been ridiculous. 61.7% :o

Also hasn't had less than six assists in the last nine games, or less than six boards in the last eight. Take away the first game against Denver, and his shooting %, rebounding and assists aves are all off the charts.

So does that mean if the Spurs beat the Hornets - then Paul is not the "real" MVP?

I don't know how anybody could even question Kobe's MVP award anymore after what he's done so far in the playoffs..if his season wasn't good enough to convince you, I don't know how you can ignore the playoffs..

Kobe was really bad in the 4th in Games 1 and 4 (1/6 from the field in both games), so that's where that % comes from (it's something like 32%; 3/6 in Game 3; 1/3 in Game 2 and 2/4 in Game 6). That doesn't include the FTs he made of course (7-7 in the 4th on Friday for example). So yeah, take that for what it's worth.

The lakers just seem like a team on a mission this year. Ending off the season strong to prepare for the playoffs. Sweeping a 50 win team in Denver; would've beat the Jazz in 5 if it weren't for a bad back for Kobe, but still closing it out in SLC where the Jazz have only lost 5 times the whole year. And this is all without 2 of they're top 3 defenders in Ariza and Bynum. This team is insanely talented and when they get healthy they will be incredibly dominant. I see them going through any obstacle in their way to win the chip this year.

I just don't see the Lakers being eliminated by anyone this year. They are very strong at home and very dangerous on the road. Not gonna be easy though. I say Lakers in 6 either way.

I thought Kobe was great in the 2nd round but Lamar Odom was the best player on that team during the series and that was very unfortunate for my team...

I see the Spurs in 7.. or if the Hornets win, Lakers in 5

as a lamar homer, i think its ridiculous to say that lamar was the best player on the team.
