Michael Jordan was a prick? Big news here.

Still, most of those quotes look much worse on their own than they do in (presumably) the book from where they were taken.

And for those whining about players today getting ripped for their comments, I hadn’t activated my realgm account in 1991 so I can’t say what it was like on here when this was all going on.

I wouldn't mind if MJ made fun of me, as long as he gave me a piggy back to 6 NBA titles. Oh wait he did piggy back most of those guys to at least 1 title.

I'd still want him on my team if I was a player, coach, gm, fan, but that doesn't mean he is not a douche and a bitter angry man. Winning doesn't replace class and respect. There are certain things one expects of a human being regardless if you are a garbage man or MJ.

Again, it is not a big deal to me because I would take him on my team every time, but that stop being blinded by your love for the man. He has always and will always be a world class a-hole.

People are admiring Jordan for his competitive nature which translated to those comments. These guys make millions of dollars and I think they could handle a couple backhanded compliments and rude comments about their game. If they couldn't-- there was the option of getting a sex change to go play in the WNBA.

Yeah i mean MJ was right on most of the those comments anyways..Stacy King was trash, Will Purdue was trash. He carried that whole franchise. He took the Bulls from nothing into the most popular team, right up there with the Celtics and Lakers.
6 finals MVPs and won every trip he ever made to the finals with a bunch of bums. I dont care what MJ says about me, if we are winning and im getting rings and getting paid i will suck it up.
“We played them here, we played them there, we played them with their whole team, we played them without their whole team,” said Crawford of the four meetings. “We match up well with those guys. We definitely respect them, but we don’t fear anybody.”

Let's face it. There are no saints in sports.
Even the players you think are nice have these moments behind closed doors.
Jordan isn't a prick or dbag, he's a competitive top class player. Like all top class players
things get a lot emotional when things don't work and players almost always say bad things about eachother.
If your goal is to win and you have this player who makes a **** of money and doesn't even do **** you'd be p!ssed off too and you'd probably let him know you're p!ssed off. That don't make you a dbag. There's no person who'd talk nice about those type of players at worst they'll think about it and some players just don't like to talk about others backs and have the balls to say it in their face. A dbag to me is someone who bashes people who do not deserve it. If you hate on Bird or Magic or DR J you are a dbag, a prick.

Also I really don't believe those comments are 100% true. Most seem to be made up.
A book claims he said it. Unless there's video evidence I'll take these stuff with a grain of salt.
I watched a lot of interviews with Jordan and he sounded really well spoken and smart. And always talked with respect to opponents and players.
The league's become a joke really. Too many sensitive but-t-hurt people that get their panties in a bunch.

It must have been incredibly frustrating for Jordan as he was surrounded by trash for many years. They traded away their young guys like Oakley. They didn't sign any free agents. All they wanted to do was sell tickets and keep their payroll as low as possible. Jordan could have won eight championships if the Bulls had decent management in his early years. If it wasn't for Scottie Pippen emerging into a top player the Bulls could have continued with the status quo and Jordan not winning anything.

Yea, I was thinking the exact same thing. These would only be shocking if I had never played on any sort of sports team in my life, but since I have played on a good amount, these are not shocking at all. Now that doesn't mean Jordan is a nice guy, clearly he's not, but this isn't anything out of the ordinary and can even be heard from a rec league player who is better than all his teammates.

A reporter talking about new Bobcat's owner, Jordan, talking about Theo Ratliff last night.

Jordan said Theo might have blocked some of Jordan's shot back in the day.

Theo said, "You know I did!"

Jordan tells Theo, "Back then you use to block 9 out of 10 shots. Now you block 7 out of 10 shots. Just remember you're roll."

He was the most competitive player of all time. He was a pos to his teamates, and they all knew it and a few of them have talked about it. Bottom line is he backed it up. Six rings. Could have easily been 8.

By the way, I don't think role players care about championships as much as you guys claim. Most role players want playing time, a significant role on the team, and money. They would pick that over riding the bench and getting crapped on by MJ and winning a title.

Being a great basketball player doesn't translate to being a great person.

Michael was the greatest to play the game but he is a crappy human being.

People trying to twist it other ways is ridiculous.

I'm certain Michael said those things because they were problems but it doesn't change the fact that he went overboard with it and was flat out cruel at times.
