There's no argument now for anyone other than Durant, except from those who are still crying and bitter over Durant going to a team they didn't want him to go to. Objectively, however, Durant is the current pick for MVP easily. Obviously plenty of basketball left to play, but at this point he obviously is.

Durants got better numbers, but it's pretty clear (by all the numbers) that Lebron is far and away the most impactful player for the Cavs while Durant may not even be the most impactful Warrior

That might be because this guy that is B2B MVP is on Durant's team while Lebron has two players that will never win MVP. Might make a small difference.

Sure, but that doesn't necessarily matter from the standpoint of MVP voting.

Why not? Durant might not be the MVP of his own team, but he's the MVP of the league?

Are you new to the MVP voting? If not, you should know the answer to your question, the MVP award should be renamed to BPOTBT, Best Player of The Best Team.

Thats the thing though, i dont think Durant is the best player on the W's, and I certainly think it's at the very least arguable. Im not sure why Durant is any more deserving of the MVP than Curry is

Yeah, I made a mistake. It actually should be called the Most Statistically Dominant Player on the Best Team. And that is currently Durant.

Who thinks that? I think if Durant meets the criteria (having better stats on a team that wins 5-6-7-8 games more), he should win, doesn't mean I think he is better than Lebron, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

lol it's only been a handful of months since the 16' finals and KD is better than lebron? especially with the cavs playing better than ever? blasphemous lol. There's no way KD is the best player in basketball at this moment

Looks like some of you guys really don't understand that only 2016-2017 regular season matters for this award. Prior information such as Warriors winning 73 games last season or Cavaliers winning title is irrelevant.

That's not how voters usually think. for example, Phoenix improving by 20+ wins when Nash joined was a big reason he won in 2005. The Nets improving a lot from the previous seasons when Kidd joined was the main reason he almost won in 2002 despite his stats which weren't all that impressive.

it is without a doubt going to be on voter's minds when the time comes. I was responding to the claim that KD is the best player in the world. Thats clearly false and the 16' finals and prior info can be brought up.

The guy you quoted is the same guy who was saying in the same declarative tone that Curry had the GOAT season and the Warriors were the GOAT team when they went up 3-1 in the finals then flipped to LeBron when they won the ring. Knee-jerk at it's finest.

Hard to win the finals when you don't have your entire team for the entire series...ask LeBron the year before.

James is really rolling and he is only occasionally kicking it into high gear. Love and Kyrie also playing so well is allowing him to just rack up the assists.
