Is that really that hard to do?

Jeez. Have fun fighting your insecurities.

Have we forgotten in this world how to unconditionally apologize? Some people are bad people. We are sorry for those bad people. Simple. If your line of argument is continued rationalized, I've already stated my opinion on that and there's no need to go any further.

Why should anyone apologize for the actions of other people?
So because of some bad apples the entire fanbase here should apologize? Are you implying some sort of collective punishment ?

This x 10. The level of rationalizing cheering on the injury in this thread is getting pretty pathetic. We went from "they cheered on a steal" to "well the true fans were priced out from the arena" to "well, other fanbases did that in the past" to now "it's primal, it's in the human nature". What's next?

Dude, I seriously don't get it. Am I taking crazy pills here? Lmao. If you have to defend a bad act by bringing up other bad acts that aren't pertinent to the conversation (at the least the point I, myself, not anyone else, was specifically trying to make), then it's time to take a look in the mirror and possibly take some time away from spectating sports.

I was agreeing with you, essentially. Lol. My first couple sentences were rhetorical questions.

The simple and right answer to this is that it was in the heat of the moment. They cheered realizing the biggest thing essentially holding them back from a championship was Kevin Durant and now he might be out, not immediately realizing the severity of the situation. They woke up and realized it wasn't a good look and stopped.

Given the circumstances this same scene would have played out exactly the same against any other team facing the Warriors in the finals, and you're all lying to yourself if you think otherwise.

Well when there are 20 thousand people in the arena and half as many all those explanations can apply to many of the people.

Get over yourself, nothing they did impacted the game.

Less than 10% of the crowd are actual Raptors fans. Real fans have been completely priced out of this series. This is probably the first basketball game for most of the people in the crowd.

Off topic but I need to reply to this bs.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Every season seat holder in the 5 rows (those are the ones I know and would recognize) around me were all there. Don’t give me the crap line that “real fans” have been priced out. Maybe you have, but you’re not a season seat holder so some would argue you’re not a real fan. this non-sense narrative needs to stop.

Raptors fan in that arena did no wrong. Their team is at war for the ultimate prize and they were 3 quarters away from it happening.

All is fair in war.

Basketball fans must be the softest fans in the world. The crowd gave KD a hand off the floor chanted his name after the initial cheering.

Not very classy to cheer but I am there are a lot of people who are happy it happened and could care less about a zillionaire suffering a non-life threatening injury doing his job.

Except its not just a basketball game, its a potential first championship for a major basketball city/country.

Its not right or tasteful to cheer an injury, but understand their perspective.

Oh wait, you mean to tell me that knee jerk reactions to a unclear situation from the floor are reflections of the entire fan base?

Why didn't the basketball gods punish the warriors?

Raptors had the class to cheer for kd as he walked out. Warriors? not so much.

As a Raptors fan i'll add in my 2 cents.

Rightly or wrongly, last night put a black mark on the Toronto Raptor fanbase as a whole.

I really don't know what the % of the fanbase were band-wagoners and what % were legit Raptors fans.

We all could sit here and debate what had transpired in the heads of the crowd at the time but it ultimately leads to the same thing.

Rightly or wrongly, the PERCEPTION is that Raptor fans did a classless act.

Also notice how I didn't say the Raptors fans, I said Raptors fans, as in the general Raptor fan populace.

So yeah, black mark on the Raptor fanbase.

I'm tired of this irresponsible, lazy, and frankly dumb comparison. Where exactly are fans here cheering for Kawhi's injury? How does this even compare to everyone knowing the gravity of KD's injury and knowing what it means to the rest of this series? Nobody knew at this time this would keep Kawhi out for a year. JVG is talking about how Danny Green shouldn't have fouled to get Kawhi out, some other player should have. It looks like a goddamn ankle sprain where he might return the same game.

You seriously think this moment in Game 1 in this series where the Warriors fans DON'T cheer for an Kawhi injury somehow compares to people posting snap stories in Jurassic park saying "**** KD's achilles ass bitch* and cheering?

You find a new slant. You are clearly using some perceived sense of impartiality to create false equivalencies.

You were never rooting for us and you know it. Stop acting like this is what tipped you over the edge. This was the moment you guys were waiting for so you could truly justify your agenda and lash out at our fanbase. Fans cheering on injuries have happened across all teams in all sports throughout history. Yea it sucks, but there's nothing you can really do about it. You gotta move on and learn

Honestly, whether they were waiting or not, the aftermath of the incident is completely justified.

This would have turned everywhere against any fanbase had that fanbase done the same. I can't remember in recent history when fans deserved to take the L more than this.

You gotta be kidding. I didn't hear or see any cheering, people waving goodbyes, laughing, **** Kawhi chants in that video. Crowd booed the foul call. Leonard even got up after that and tried to walk it off. It's not even comparable and you know it.
If you want to go the childish "well they did this bad thing in the past, so that excuses our bad thing we did" route then at least find a better example.

I understand all that, however it's not the point.

It happened, we can dissect why and we can break it all down...but it's a waste of time. I'm not going to sit here and say I'm a saint who wouldn't cheer of i was in that moment. I dont know.
