It says: "Please say "KOBE" before tossing the trash into the can. Don't let the tradition die!"
Det. Frank Pembleton: You know, sometimes you're funny. Then there's now.

Mike Tirico said that during Kobe's last game, Gordon Hayward intentionally committed a lane violation on Kobe's last free throw to ensure that he'd get another chance at 60 in case he missed.

Thanks for this. Been waiting to hear from Shaq verbally. Only 3 and a half minutes in, I'm not sure I actually can though.

This times a million. It's not fair to expect the mods to have to step in every 30 minutes reminding people this.
No one gives a **** about some Washington reporter, some no name comedian, and Evan Rachel Wood.
With a billion people on social media, not everyone is going to have the decency to not use this as an opportunity to push their agenda. I'm not a mod, and again, I hope this isn't considering backseat moderating, but I sincerely don't see the point of polluting this thread with any of that nonsense. And to me, whoever is sharing that stuff, quoting it, debating it, etc, could simply make the decision to let it go instead.

He's on Joe Rogan's podcast all the time. I never really thought much of the guy....he was just there for filler.
But now I know he's a real piece of garbage

That makes it even more bizarre since everything we know about the incident suggests a huge pilot error, from the fact chose to fly in bad whether conditions to his mishandling of the situation which resulted in the crash.
Human error is a thing. I really hope you don’t put that same level of expectation on people you love. It was a tragic accident and putting blame on someone is just...

That's weirdly very cool of Hayward though if Kobe knew about this he would probably curse him out in a joking way.
But let's keep it real.......there was no way in hell Kobe was missing that free throw. Say what you want about the overall game and performance being overrated, but the last 3 minutes was pure excellence. His focus was on another level.

That's a crazy fact. The fact that the Bobs Pettit and Cousy, and Bill Russell, outlived Kobe Bryant is insane, and very tragic.
Yeah. Oscar, Willis Reed, and Unseld as well still alive. I remember when Wilt died in 1999 at only 63. That was a big loss due to relative youth. It was hard to believe that big Wilt could die was a sentiment bandied about in the media/press. Nothing even comes close to this since Petrovic/Lewis.
I'd add Maravich to the list. That was pretty shocking, though obviously not nearly as horrific in nature.
This whole thing is so depressing.

I don't think anybody believes the pilot is a "villain". I'm pretty sure he didn't fly into a mountain by purpose, but I'm also sure he made several errors which caused this terrible tragedy. This one is on the pilot. The pilot made the call to fly despite the whether conditions and the pilot made the mistakes which led him to crash against a mountain.
you and I have no idea what happened or who made the call so I won’t get into a back and forth. None of us know. You don’t know if he said the conditions are bad and Kobe said let’s give it a go anyways. You have absolutely no idea and unfortunately none of Us will ever know.
The pilot obviously made some mistakes and the word is “vilify” has nothing to do with being a villain but means to speak disparagingly about someone. Now with new information given that Kobe and the pilot may have been close It’s probably more than likely that they both had discussions about whether to fly that day or not. I also don’t think Kobe would allow a pilot he didn’t have great confidence in to fly his children and family in.
It doesn't matter what the passenger says it's up to the pilot to fly or not. If lapd wasn't flying their chopper neither should he. I do blame pilot error (fog and he forgot to consider their may be hills to the right and left of him (not just straight ahead)) but will be happy to correct post if ruled mechanical.
So you’re going to prematurely blame the pilot but you’ll apologize if evidence comes out that it was a mechanical issue that caused the crash? I don’t know, that doesn’t seem right to me tbh.

holy ish that guy is an idiot. Youre a semi known comedian with a comedy tour happening detailing your location and you decide to post that on social media with a guy who has arguably the most dedicated hardcore fanbase ever. Good luck to him and his family yikes.

I'm sorry, but that is a dispicable comment. Do you think the pilot went out of his way to crash the helicopter?
Unfortunately, he could have done everything right in the moment but due to circuumstances things went horribly wrong, but to go and blame the pilot for what happened when investigations are ongoing is unfair.
Why so serious?
