Allen is probably going to get $20 mil per in free agency this summer and the Rockets just signed a young promising center, Wood, to a bargain contract. Prince is signed for $13 mil next season and the Rockets don't want that either.

Why would Allen get $20M in FA? He's a rim-running big in a league where rim-running bigs are a dime a dozen and lowly valued.

Lebron ain't what he used to be, no idea what he'll look like with another year. He and AD have to both play at MVP levels for the Lakers to win, they don't have a reliable third guy who can attack.

AD would feast for sure, but the Lakers aren't an incredible 3-point shooting team and the Nets would be similar to the 2015-2019 Warriors in the pace that they can score. I'm just not convinced the Lakers can keep up even if AD is going to get his. Shutting down two guys, especially 1 past his prime, is doable. Shutting down 3 scorers all in their prime who can shoot from distance, score inside, hit free throws, etc? Seems like a heavy ask, and AD would be gassed from his offensive load.

We plenty of bodies to throw at KD and Harden. Defensivley we will be fine. It will be intrestng to see the contrasting styles play in 7 game sereis. The nets biggest openenats are the heat and 76ers who have bigs as well and scorers

It will definitely be interesting. I remember when the Heat formed everyone lost their minds with the possibilities, but the reality was much less nuclear than it seemed on paper. We basically won't know what this Nets team can become until the end of the year after they've had a lot of games to figure it out. D'Antoni is a savant offensively so I'm sure he'll come up with some nice schemes, and there's still time for the nets to make a trade to improve defense.

They'll all be 25+ picks that NBA teams trade sometimes just to preserve cap space. These picks 90% of the time are nothing.

Maybe. But the Nets might only have a 1.5 year window. If they can't get to the finals this year or next things could get ugly. KD/Harden/Kyrie are all FAs after next year. It's a team with no leaders and no defense. I like the gamble on the picks.

Harden is an elite player but...

Nets roster was already terrible defensively as well as being low on depth. Their strengths were offense (every aspect of it), and having 2 stars. Basically a top heavy team that can score a ton of points but gives up a lot too. With this trade, they further bolstered their strengths and magnified their weaknesses.

The best thing that could happen to the Nets now is that Kyrie does some weird **** and gets upset with management/coaching/other players and asks for a trade. If they got a mobile back up C and 4th option that can defend for Kyrie, and maybe another rotation player or 2, they would be a better team.

boston, miami, milwaukee, sixers and the pacers all have a chance of getting to the finals
of course, the clippers are still looming large to the lakers' repeat aspirations.

This is the nba we know what teams will be in the finals a month into the season and yes it will be nets- Lakers. And I agree with him KD/Harden/Irving are all elite shooters good luck trying to rotate over to them

Doubtful, the Cavs actually really like Javale as he is a vocal leader for all of the young guys plus hes cheap. My bet would be Drummond and then they will use the cap space from Drummond to resign Allen. Basically just shifting money from one guy to another.

The Cavs run a lot of 'big ball' lineups where Nance/Drummond/McGee are on the floor together at the same time so they could also just hang onto both and let Drummond walk in the offseason for cap space if they cant find a trade partner.
