Just a little help - as far as peak on specific surface, we all know Nadal on clay is GOAT.

But as far as all surfaces Novak (again) has the highest peak.

Wiki - "Djokovic holds the distinction of having 16.950 ranking points on 6 June 2016, the most ATP points ever accumulated by any player."
The most ATP points at one time shows how dominant a player was in a year, which is what most people would consider as peak.

Novak used to get in his own way a lot more.

Now he just doesn't play against himself and that's so tough to beat.

I've never seen another player in the history of the sport return the ball as well as Djoker. He is, without a doubt, the greatest defense-to-offense player ever. He doesn't just get to balls, he returns them with pace and accuracy.

All 4 slams are discussing getting rid of the LET on serves, so in future if the ball touches the top of the net it will count as a legal serve.
The unpredictable nature of a serve hitting the top of the net and falling over, or even just clipping, will make it more difficult to win slam titles.
So Djokovic holding The Slam Record will no longer count, as he won all those slams with the help of LET being called.
Alcaraz can get The Slam Record next year, by winning more slams than anyone in the "no LET" era.

What would be the purpose of eliminating let calls? Neither players nor fans want to see points end on net balls.

Sinner-Alcaraz III

If Sinner recovers from the injury he'll win, otherwise Carlos takes it.

Looked like Sinner faked the injury to break Felix's momentum, plus Alcaraz is 6-2 vs. Sinner on hardcourt including 3-0 since 2024.
Sinner only won hardcourt slams because he didn't have to play Alcaraz...
Alcaraz is gonna have Sinner for dinner!

Sunday will be watching some tennis. Was disappointed when Dimitrov got injured and lost to Sinner on Wimbledon, but then learned we had young talents. Bulgarian final in the juniors and then Sinner-Alcaraz classic. Still wish there are more promising players coming up so mens finals are no so repetitive. Tennis needs the likes of Murray, Wawrinka in addition to a Big 2/3.

Hope Sinner wins but I think Alcaraz takes it. He's just playing at a higher level right now.

I think it is time for Djokovic to consider when he wants to retire and how.
Not that he is not stil a top 3 player, but the gap to Alcaraz and Sinner is too big.
Does he want to punish his body any longer.
I think the best time would have been to say bye bye after the Gold in Paris.

Djokovic still getting to semis in these tournaments and still easily being a top 3 player is insane.

This is no contradiction to his greatness, but as I can consider him as someone with a huge amibtion to be the best, this situation to have a clear gap to the top 2 must drive him mad.

How much is 2025 Novak worse than 2023 Novak?
I suspect not much, what changed is that now there are two athletes in his tier, but 15 years younger.
Pretty sure he wouldn't have won any major, against this version of Sincaraz.

He just beat Alcaraz at the AO earlier this year.

He can still beat Carlos, but has no real shot against Sinner. That's the issue.

This year at Wimbledon, Dimitrov was dominating Sinner and if he didn't tear his pec, Djokovic is likely in Final vs. Alcaraz.

Sure, he can still a win if the situation is right, and Alcaraz is in some funk or Sinner is injured.
But he's not getting 7 majors in 21-23.

I had no idea until today that nobody has ever won the US Open without dropping a set!

He's probably hoping that both get knocked out before reaching him on the way to #25, he's still good enough to win a Slam as long as he doesn't play Sinner and/or Alcaraz.

I don't think he's winning any major in 23, that would be my bet. But he can win one, over the larger 3 years window, if the situation breaks right.
