Love Fox's attitude and want him to succeed but honestly he's nothing like John Wall as far as a tier of a prospect IMO. Yeah he is quick and lacking shooting and went to UK but nowhere near the pure PG and smaller. Wall even in high school had very evident playmaking ability that was special. Given size, playmakin ability and athleticism I've actually thought he was one of the better number one prospects in a while for a one and done. Since him the only prospect I liked more was AD as Towns was good but a surprise. He was a really good prospect who got hated on because many people called Rose his floor right before Rose made a huge jump his MVP year. And the next year people fell in Love with Kyrie so Wall has been a bit underrrated or his potential skipped over a bit since. Fox is nowhere near the prospect Wall was coming out IMO. Not to say he can't be a great player but people who think he's on that level given the tools and skill set at the same age I think are very mistaken.

I think underrating fox if you think hes not close to wall as prospect. Hes better pure athlete than wall imho. Wall has the better size/dimensions than fox. Also fox jumpshot isnt good by any means but not bad. Bad would be like rondo rubio dunn..hes better shooter than those guys.

Even if Fox is a better athlete Wall was still close to elite in this regard with great size and an absolute blur in the open court. But the point of my post was that Wall in high school and college showed much better vision and playmaking than Fox. Not saying Fox isn't a good prospect but as far as an ideal PG prospect it doesn't get much better than Wall was

For reference this was John Wall in his first summer league (he won MVP of SL that year)

Aside from the obvious physical differences (Fox isn't nearly as solid/strong as Wall, and not quite as explosive) I don't think his ballhandling is as good as Wall's. Fox's handle + ball control looks shaky imo, I think he has small hands . Also Wall was much more advanced as a passer which was obvious even in college, he broke a bunch of assist records at UK.

I really like Fox as a prospect, think he or DSJ will be the best PGs from this draft. But I see more of a Mike Conley Jr level prospect rather than Wall-level.

Good grief I thought Payne had some potential his rookie season in OKC. He looks horrible out there today! Finally makes a shot.

The Dallas sl team is alot of fun to watch. DSJ looks like another VERY good rookie.

I was high on him out of college. A bit shocked he can't score . Making tough shots was his thing in college.

I love Ding's motor.

But have you seen that second rounder from the Rockets...Zhou Qi? He looked so good last night. Has great footwork, motor and 3 point range for a 7'3-7'4 guy. Crazy.

Wall and Conley are the same tier of PG as far as being impact players. There is an obvious trade off between scoring and playmaking between the two. I think Wall is clearly a better athlete and passer than Fox but Fox currently has the potential to be a much better scorer than Wall has ever shown.

Nah. Wall is a tier ahead of Conley.. Conley puts up nice efficient stats but Wall is a different level of dynamic threat, because of how he can control the pace of a game with his explosiveness and passing.

Fox isn't as strong as a finisher as Wall, and has a much worse jumpshot than Wall coming out of college (Wall shot 33% from three at UK, Fox shot 25%) so I'm not sure what you're seeing that makes you think he'll be a better scorer. Mike Conley Jr projection for Fox is actually really optimistic, since Conley improved his jumper a ton. I think Fox could be more like Eric Bledsoe maybe (also a very nice player + good defensive guard)

God this rookie class is simply phenomenal.

I'm already rooting for so many of them.

Out a game? Sure. But out a week due to a cramp? Hook the kid up to a damn IV and be done with it???

Ingram made it look easy. Continued on his growth post-ASB last season. Shut him down. No need to chance it.

It's Magic overreacting. I'm just salty because the Ingram vs Brown & Tatum would have been a lot more fun.

Lonzo needs a bounce back game and without Ingram that's going to be tougher. Wouldn't be surprised if the Celtics put Brown on him tonight.

I don't see how Wall being a better passer and average scorer makes him a tier above of a much more efficient scoring PG and an average passer.

You realized John Wall shot 7% from the 3 point line his second year right? Wall was terrified to even take the three point shot. Fos is at least the more confident shooter.Fox has shown improvement shooting. He is a much better shooter from mid range than Wall at the same age.
