Lebron has only won 1 championship without James Jones.

Magic is incredibly overrated. He is probably the most overrated player in history all things considered.

Totally disagree. On what basis would you say that?

He got drafted into the best team in the league and his playstyle was based purely on feeding great offensive players like Worthy or Kareem and transition points. It is a player that would have aged like milk and would have a mediocre career if he got drafted to a different team or a different era. Bird was at least 2 tiers above him.

Curry is like clockwork. Was busy showboating and frontrunning on the first quarter and fell on his face as usual when game got down the stretch:

2nd quarter: 0/2 FG, 0 POINTS, 1 TOV, 2 fouls (-8)
3rd quarter: 3/8 fg (1/4 3PT), 2/2 FT, 9 POINTS, 1 AST, 1 STL, 1 TOV, +15
4th quarter: 2/6 fg (0/1 3pt), 4 POINTS, 1 TRB, 2 AST, 1 STL, -20

For as good as Curry was, no he wasn’t the best player on the floor. That was Jaylen Brown. Yes Curry had more points but half of his output came in the first quarter. He couldn’t get it going when it mattered. Brown did and in turn gave his team the momentum and confidence to propel them to a win.

It was actually more than half of his output came in the 1st quarter. He scored 62% of his points (21 of his 34 points) in the 1st quarter. He shot 7/9 in the first quarter and 5/16 the rest of the game.

He was vintage Curry in the 1st quarter and looked like he was going to have a vintage Curry performance of 40+ points including 10-ish made 3s. He was other-worldly in the 1st quarter and pretty bad the rest of the game.

Sounds vintage Curry right there.

if only he was 6’5” or bigger he’d be unstoppable. his lack of size is his biggest detriment and forces him to be perfect with off ball movement, 1 on 1 space creation to make sure he gets enough daylight and separation to get a clean look at the rim.

Not exposed. But once the Celtics stopped treating him like a random guy on the court (especially in pick n roll situations), he came back down to earth. Dude was on pace to score 80 in the 1st quarter.

And to be completely honest, despite having a better roster, if the Celtics can make life difficult for KD, they can do it to anybody. It's not a fluke

Best player for most of the game.

Yea those looks Curry got won't happen later in the series. This is their first time facing Steph in an intense playoff/Finals atmosphere. They weren't prepared for how different he is with his 3pointers when literally every possession matters. Once they mentally adjusted to that it wore off. Warriors will play better and Jayson Tatum will play better. Should be fun
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

Curry has always had his level of play decrease in the NBA finals (like Kobe). Why was the thread about Curry's finals record without KD locked? Is the mod a Curry stan or something? It is a perfectly legit topic. Though Curry played very well yesterday on offense. His defense was poor as usual, but that's not his role.

If not for KD's coward move Curry would probably have only one championship (against an injury riddled Cavs team). Curry's lack of size prevents him from dominating the game at the highest level like a Lebron, Duncan, MJ, Shaq etc.

This is silly. Curry is probably the greatest pure shooter in NBA history and he's a good playmaker. But he's not a great defender and he's only 6-2. He's never been a guy who could carry a team all by himself, like LeBron.
He is what he has always been, so I don't understand the use of the term "exposed."

That's a really awful, low-quality take, without a doubt. You also clearly don't know anything about the offense in the later Lakers seasons during which he played. 91 comes immediately to mind. They played at 94.1 possessions per game. The SLOWEST team in the league played at 95.4 possessions per game in the 2022 season.

His biggest issues are he can’t control pace and has some deficiencies as a playmaker. But this is who he has always been n. Still top 20 All time

Curry was not the issue, you cant win NBA games when your 2nd, 3rd 4th guy got outplayed by other teams 2nd , 3rd, 4th players. I expect some bounce back game from Green Klay and Poole or this series will be over soon.
