Basketball league is 6th the most watched league in Germany and 4th by sport discipline after soccer, ice hockey and handball. By league turnover could reach 2nd place in near future with two teams in Euroleague.

Sure, but these are team sports only, that Statista table up there has everything. Even dance :D

Sorry but that wiki chart actually proves exactly how unpopular the game is. "6th most watched league" just refers to the amount of fans that attend individual games. Basketball doesn't even have as much fans as the most popular 4th league soccer teams https://www.reviersport.de/fussball/regionalligawest-2122-zuschauer.html
The 4th league is officially and amateur league.

"4th sport by discipline" simply discards the fact that individual sports are insanely popular in Germany too. Therefore, some of these positive conclusions are definitely flawed.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Yes they are and no they havent, just an unusually good night. Thanasis had 14 points, probably tells you all you need to know

Papanikolaou was 6/6 from 3. They also naturalised Thomas Walkup who is built like a brick **** house but can't shoot, and even he made 2 threes.

Because if Greece needed to naturalise anyone that's what they needed

Surely there was a spare Seb sniper out there ?

I hear about Biathlon all the time, and I kind off know what it is, but not exactly.

basically thats skiing on the flat (lets say "inline skating in the snow using ski") and after each round you have to shoot targets. for each miss you get a time penalty or must run penalty laps.

you are right about that. I remember a few years back when the football club in my town was playing in the 5th division they were still filling their stadium with multiple thousands of fans each. for their relegation match they had 18000 people in attendance. eighteen. thousand!!! as a comparison: the indiana pacers average roughly 16000 per game and the gainbridge fieldhouse doesnt even have the capacity for 18000 people. 5th division of football in germany vs the best basketball league in the world.

Yes, thats the thing, I would say it is pretty popular, I do find it stunning that there would be person who havent even heard of Biathlon. I mean popular the same way gymnastics is popular, I know its a thing and we watched it number of times, but not like athletes themselves are stars, they aren't. We did have decent Biathlon performers, but I never really knew them at all.

And so is Johannes Boe currently. I'd think Foersberg (women) and Fisher were as well in their time. There were way less sports displayed in the 90ies but biathlon was already one of the main nordic skiing competition (worldwide). It was just not popular in the US (just like winter games sports basically). But northern Europe (+ Italy for southern Europe) is fan of biathlon since a long time

That reminds me that there is no skiiing basketball (in other words, back to the original topic...).

Murray will play in the FIBA World Cup.

This is great news!

The actual quote was not nearly as definitive as that.

But it does sounds like he’s going to try to slowly ramp up his workload with the intention of trying to play at the World Cup.

Team Canada will be monitoring his workload in consultation with the Nuggets and he could still pull out if it seems detrimental to his health or NBA season.
Game, blouses.

Biathlon is big in France as well, Martin Fourcade is a huge star here, everybody knows who he is, he's always in tv ads as the face of multiple brands.

Regionalliga West had an average attendance of 1.859 and 1701 in the last 2 seasons. Thats not even half the attendance of the BBL.

The BBL had an averaage of 4130 in the regular season and 6077 in the playoffs.

Honestly surprised he’s considering playing without signing an extension with the Nuggets first. Maybe he plans to play the season out in hopes of making All NBA for a supermax, even in that situation this tournament can impact that if he gets hurt.

I was on my way to post this, then noticed your post.
Don't think that there was/is another biathlon athlete of that caliber/fame, though.
