I think most sports will be boring to watch if you don't know the teams, players, your own favorites etc. I also can't go through NFL game, but I simply don't care who wins or who anyone is, so there is that.
Anyhow, Josh Hart is sneakily one if the best reboundrs in the tournament, 12 today in 17 minutes.

For whom? Only for US I suppose, as literally all 200+ countries in the world enjoy football far far more than NFL. And being American sport has nothing to do with it, NBA does awesome outside of US.
NFL is just so boring, it's quite unbelievable.
Tried watching super bowl a few years ago, had to turn it off after like 20 minutes, there were literally 10 seconds of play interrupted by minutes of not doing ANYTHING. A few of my friends watched it separately from me, I asked them next day how was it - they only watched for the commercials, the gameplay had no flow whatsoever, they all agreed on it.
Around 99% of people outside of US get excited about football more than NFL, even with flopping etc. So congrats being American I suppose.
I agree with your post overall, but it's also important to understand some of the circumstances and factors that lead to soccer or any given sport being popular.
Soccer is one of the easiest sports to set up. You can play with a very old messed up ball and use 2 stones, a bag and a tree as goal posts. The surface also isn't essential, we can play on grass, concrete, sand, whatever. The general purpose of the game is also easily understood. The offside rule is probably the most complicated. Poor people all over the world can play.
American football is whole different story in terms of rules, how points are counted, equipment, surface. Basketball is probably worse when it comes to rules, even basketball players themselves can't agree on rules. If I give a random scrub who never played before 20 attempts at scoring a soccerball in an empty goal from 5 meters away, he is going to make at least one. If I do the same thing from the same distance in basketball, it's most likely still brick city for the foreseeable future.

Kinda disappointed at Brazil's overall performance so far. I was expecting more, but at the same time they don't have much outside of Yago, Caboclo and Huertas who is already 40.
I think Brazil has never had a Euroleague or NBA level wing player. I see Barbosa as more of a combo guard or SG. Caboclo was the closest thing they had to a true difference maker SF, but the skillset wasn't really there so he became a PF. Marcus Vinicius didn't really pan out either.

Machado was decent. Alex Garcia if you stretch and count them as wings.

Some posters on this board had them higher on their power rankings than Lithuania and called me out when I disagreed

We both thought that roster is garbage, but Mirotic12 said it is good, not calling him out this time, he knows eurocup and champions league players better than I, so I figured I don't know something, but nah, I don't think this team is cutting it.

If you wanted to make american football more palatable around the world it would surely need to undergo a change of rules and become a different sport altogether. We already have rugby in the world though, so American football isn't quite the ideal "export-sport" imo. It's too americanized in its origin (college): "let's take rugby and soccer and create this laboratory mutant!" Basketball was already spread around the world at the beginning of the 20th century outside USA-Canada by the way. FIBA was founded in 1932.

I can see the appeal in NFL even tho I've never watched a single game in my life. But you can see some of those guys are stupidly athletic, when they go they really go, and you can feel the tension building up even in stoppage time. Also those collisions can be pretty spectacular.
I didn't understand cricket either, until the Australians explained to me that nobody really gives a **** about cricket, it's all about spending a sunny afternoon on the lawn with a few mates and a small mountain of cold beers. That made sense to me

Tobey not perfect anymore on 2pts-shots. Missed an open layup off another ridiculous pass by Doncic. (who is 0/5 in the 1st quarter so far)

Yeah too each his own indeed. Soccer, now you added rugby, are just all boring. Sure millions watch them but that doesn’t make it the more exciting sport for me.
On topic: all Africans and Asian teams being eliminated still in play, let’s see what China does.

That's the thing though, if you don't understand fans you don't understand soccer, they're just as important as the game. Or more.

American football isn't meant to be continuous like soccer is. Personally I find soccer boring because while there's continuous play, 99% of the time there's no real threat of goal scoring or any advantage creation. In football there's a discrete event every 40 seconds with a chance something exciting will happen. It feel more like a chess match - given a certain game situation and down and distance, which play should the offense call and how will the defense counter it?
The commercial breaks are an issue but that's an American thing, not a football thing necessarily (and it's particularly bad during the Super Bowl). And I feel it's worse in basketball, which is a sport intended to be more continuous so stoppages in play whether it be due to commercials or free throws really kill the flow
