I believe it's only a tech if the refs acknowledge the timeout. Looked like Smith Jr was also calling for it, so Houston definitely was done a solid here by the refs. Would have been super anticlimactic for a double OT game to end on tech, so basketball fans are winners too.

That's an example of the refs doing the wrong thing for the right reason. Like they know it's a bull**** way to end the game that no one wants so they just let it slide. I respect that but I really want refs calling games by the letter of the law whenever applicable.
