Tough crowd

I hope you're joking

Nah. I’m not easily impressed. He played dumb with poor balance. All that seems a distant memory based off last night tho.

Claiming Wemby plays dumb with poor balance was a terrible take way before last night. He's got historically good coordination and balance for a player his size, and has exceptional bballiq for a player his age.

The reason Wemby is so hyped is because a prospect with Wembys physical tools, IQ and work ethic doesn't come along often.

He was second to third best player on the floor at finals Olympics, at age of 19-20. Standing at 223 cm.

In past people of his size either couldn't run or couldn't jump or had no coordination whatsoever.

Like, in 2012 you had Hibbert who was about his size, averaging 12,8 ppg, 8,8 rpg & 2,0 BPG and was a damn all star.

Hibbert couldn't run. Guy walked up & down the court all the time.

Than few years ago you had Bol Bol hype. Bol had no BBIQ. And also his coordination was painful, had no lateral quickness whatsoever.

Than you had Bobi Marjanović ,who could dunk without jumping, but couldn't do anything else. Once again, another guy who could hardly move his body let alone run with ball.

People simply don't understand how unique & rare size and coordination of Victor actually is. You seen this now, you won't see it again next 15-20 years.

In entire history of nba you only had several people with size & skill & mobility. Shaq, Wilt, Kareem. That's kind a it. All other supers killed Cs weren't +7'0 (215 cm).

I kinda agree with benny hill, though. I mean, it's not that Wemby wasn't impressive earlier, but I was more impressed with his potential, what he could become. But after seeing so, so many 'generational' talents wash out or never amount to much, plus like 3 decades of watching ball, I don't tend to get impressed too early on.

But now I'm impressed with what he IS already. His whole game, skillset, approach and frame is an outlier, so we just have to see if his health will l, hopefuly, be an outlier too.

i know we throw out generational way to losely. But if there is any generational talent/player in this generation (excluding the old gurd like lebron, maybe curry) it is wemby :D

The guy can do it all and is physicially way above the rest, literally.

Only for them to miss out on a top 2 pick and some undeserving team like Dallas to win lottery.

Oh God... You're probably right :(

We can agree to disagree I’m sure.
Being knocked off his pivot by SGs, taking one legged threes, 20 foot fadeaways with a dreadful free throw rate didn’t exhibit balance and BBIQ IMO. All water under the bridge, he’s legitimately a monster now after the over-hype.

He looks beyond cooked. Definitely not a starting level player and it's debatable whether he is even a rotational player on a wining team at the moment
