It was the same when Turkey played in Greece .. in soccer it's some kind of ridiculous rivalry. But things have been getting better lately and the basketball match between the two nations in the group stage was fair.

It's just a never ending cycle ...
For example, first you have a game in country A. Even if most of the fans try being silent, you have a few bad apples booing and whistling, then a few others join, because of the classic sheep affect.
