In all fairness, my guess is that at the first Clipper / DJ meeting, Fegan comes in and states from the outset that DJ is going to be Superman and be a 20/20 machine as the second option for the Mavs. Doc immediately falls over from hysterical laughing for 60 minutes and the meeting ends without agreement. Its only fair that the Clips can mount a real argument now that DJ has had some time realize who he really is and the limitations he really has. There should be some rule against telling mediocre players that they will be superstars. Some NBA players are not exactly known for their intelligence.

I'm sure Cuban will sue

He will definitely ask Fegan to give back that kickback money.

Probably not the time or place to be making jokes like that about the organization getting screwed over here, no?

Cuban's not suing...a verbal agreement has no weight in the NBA even if this was the FA period. If a contract is worth millions of dollars and takes years to complete then it needs to be in writing.

You're a Sonics fan? You deserve to have all hell break out all the time... if that's what you want

What do you mean by that?

I'm saying this was a shady move, but moving an organization away the way Clay Bennett did probably tops that.

Is it a cowardly and unethical move on DJ's part? Absolutely, but I don't see how you can justify punishing the Clippers over it. If anything, DJ should be fined.

I understand why the Clips are doing it, but it's also cowardly and unethical on their part to not respect the previous agreement that had been laid down. It's going to hurt their reputation going forward and if it doesn't prompt a reprimand, I bet it will at least prompt a rule change of some kind.

Again, it's DJ who backed out of the agreement, not the Clippers. He initiated this entire drama. If he doesn't flip-flop on his decision, we're not having this conversation right now.

I get that RealGM has a hate-on for the Clippers, but you really have to be reaching to blame the organization for DJ's cowardice.

They would both be to blame, DJ for poor decision-making, Clippers for taking advantage or creating an environment to allow it. It is a two-way street.

Just to clarify, this whole emoji frenzy started with Parsons' airplane tweet, right?

NBA set the rules not the players association. Jordan can change his mind. Didn't know Feagan and Cuban were good buddies. So his agent had some agenda.

This makes no sense. DJ shouldn't have agreed to a verbal deal with the Mavs and should have gave the clippers a 2nd meeting. Look at LMA. He had about 100 dinners but at least he got it down right. DJ and the clippers are the biggest fucbois in the NBA even if this doesn't go down.
