Look at Porltand or the Nuggets make a real trade for AD.

I kinda agree. And I wouldn't be shocked if Nuggets or Portland do in fact jump the line. It seems to happen more often than not.

I'm not gonna say I think its going to happen, but I do find the level of public chatter about the LA deal to be interesting. Generally speaking, when a deal is leaked to the point of having specifics mentioned, it usually mean the deal has died, not that it's getting closer. Usually when deals get done, it's fast and pretty unexpected. This AD to LA deal is practically being negotiated in real-time on Twitter.

I agree that adding Kuzma changes the discussion, but from everything we have heard, the Lakers are not willing to give up Kuzma.

I think most team execs would disagree with you re: Tatum vs. Kuzma or Ingram. Tatum's playoff performance last year had a lasting effect on his image. Tatum was also better than both of them almost across the board this season.

He was not better than Ingram prior to his injury. He was playing lights out.

Just didn’t want this massive detail to get lost.....

This is not going to be pretty for the Lakers, and Pelicans likely going to put the Lakers over their laps.

Dr. Buss would slap the offer on the table—and call their bluff. Let them go elsewhere for an inferior trade if they like because Lakers have the BEST offer (although ESPN and RealGM like to pretend otherwise).

Dunno if the reports coming out are true or not, but it seems as if the Pels are mucho unimpressed with your offer. No idea if true or not. Time will tell.
Good assessment:

I think both teams are screwed if they trade for AD. Boston because you're not getting full commitment from him that he will stay, and LA cause of Lebron. Put the wrong pieces around him again its the same as last season.

C'mon Olshey, bring Davis to Portland and go all in like the Raptors. Something like:
McCollum
Collins
Simons
2 or 3 Future 1sts

For
AD
Hill

Michael Jordan wrote:I don't think Boston should do it if they have to give up Tatum

At this stage Tatum’s stock has dropped quite a bit from 12 months ago. 12 months ago the Celts were loaded with assets - Tatum, Rozier, Brown, Horford, Hayward. Only one of those hasn’t dropped value - Brown. Horford had a decent year but he’s aging and the other 3 have freefallen.

You have to throw in Tatum or why bother? Even with him I just doubt the Celtics have the assets compared even to the Knicks with their pick.

I'll never understand why players do this. If they're so 100% convinced they're done with a team, why not just tell the team you aren't returning.

aigne could be creating a bigger monster if he gets davis. reason is bron will force a trade from lakers to whomever which means kawhi will once again add Lakers to his list. then davis will give ainge an ultimatum that he aint resigning so trade me to the lakers. boom anthony davis and kawhi duo for the next 6-8 years vs bron and brow for the next 2-3 years.

I think people are underestimating the implications of Kyrie leaving. It's not just that they might not be instant contenders with an AD trade; it's that they just had an example of a FA whom they traded for who didn't like it in their organization and walked for nothing. To take a risk again and give up Tatum (and whatever it takes to make salaries match) and have AD (by the way, purportedly a friend of Kyrie's) there for less time... you have to wonder if that factors into their calculus.

I have no doubt Ainge is confident, but I think the Celtics executing a trade that NOP would want would show a side of Ainge that he hasn't shown before: a departure from that calculated and conservative character.

Don't sell the farm.

Unfortunately, the Lakers have nobody in their front office who can be trusted to negotiate well, and opposing fans, teams, and the media are doing everything in their power to influence the Pelicans to undervalue the Lakers assets.

This is what I don’t get on this board. On one hand it’s the Lakers players are trash and their assets suck, yet somehow trading for AD, a top 10 and most likely top 5 player is somehow selling the farm. Both things can’t be true

Kyrie is weird man.

Where does he have a better chance winning a title. If he said back to bOston, he would be Irving/Brown/Hayward/Horford/Davis Morris/baynes and filler off the bench.

That is an insane team. It is there for Him. All he has to do is say Yes. If you get Davis, I will sign a 2 year deal with an opt out year 3. I mean. Ridiculous.

Nets? Irving and Russell backcourt? Jimmy Butler to nets? Davis and KD won’t do nets.

I know it is somewhat home, I like the thought of the nets as good. But he has potentially legendary career in front of him in Boston if he stays.

Gives that up to hag with Jay-Z in Brooklyn, which I love, but let’s be honest - IT IS NOT MANHATTAN. Those seven Miles matter.

Players don't care about winning the title as much as you think they do. Gone are those days when everyone was singularly motivated by that. They care more about aligning philosophies, branding, doing it their way.

I think I (and he, judging by his new representation) disagree with that. I think it's really worth evaluating why a player is opting to leave Boston for maybe a worse team, irrespective of aspirations to pair him with another superstar. If he leaves, that means there was something seriously wrong with that pairing, and I'm not sure all of that is "Kyrie is weird".

To Kyrie its obvious that his brand is more important than winning. Is what it is

I cant believe Pels think Kuzma is the most valuable asset we got..Great i hope we can keep either Lonzo or BI then..i'd have no problem seeing Kuz leave. He is made for the 6th man role..come out guns blazing.

You've been putting a ton of energy into hating on the Celtics haven't you? Well the media as of right now is saying the Lakers are the leverage, which I thought they were for a while in order for us to put Tatum's right on the table.I think if Tatum's available we get Davis with ease. I don't know if Danny will do it. Still wonder what Benson's position on the Lakers is. We shall find out a week from now.

I would take Tatum over any one of the Lakers' duders, and I've been saying the Lakers' package was doo doo. That doesn't mean that every single person in NBA circles thinks the same. I could see the logic behind thinking Ingram > Tatum. The fact of the matter is Tatum has been nothing more than average during the regular season, and while in the NBA that kind of production for a player his age is promising, that doesn't mean he will ever take the jump into stardom for sure.

I have no problem with the Celtics except for the fact that they are a rival of my team. However, Celtics fans prove consistently to be some of the biggest homers on this board, which is one thing I can't stand. Therefore, I like to poke a little fun at them, sure.

The thing about Tatum, is that while he’s showed flashes in the regular season and playoffs of being a strong scorer... he was a plus defender and great shooter from deep(and the line) as a 19 year old.

At the very least, he’s landing between 15-20, with floor spacing and defense at multiple positions.

Ingram has flashes as an on ball player too, but not so much as a shooter and defender.
