Good read as to why Franz should win ROY.

roy with the worst record

keep dreaming

Record has never mattered for RotY.

Record always mattered when u have 2 players and one is putting good stats on playoff team vs the other on the worst ranking team.

So GL with Franz, and you on purpose ignore defense where mobley is top.

Once again, records have never been an indicator for ROY. It has ALWAYS been whichever rookie put up better numbers. By your logic Hakeem should've won rookie of the year in 1985 because the Rockers had a better record 48-34 where as Jordan finished 38-44 and won the ROY. I can do this with almost every single class.

Once again, I am not saying that Franz will win, but he is definitely in the running no matter what the Magic's record is.

Allen Iverson won ROY with a record of 22-60

LOL ok.. By your logic Kendrick Nunn shouldve won ROY instead of Ja Morant. Nunn averaged 15ppg 2reb 3ast 1st on a team that went to the finals. Where as Ja avg 17ppg 4reb 7 ast on a team that didint make the playoffs. Your logic is very flawed.

What? ROY has never been a record based award. Now, if the advanced stats showed one player was way more helpful to winning than the other player and they had similar stats, of course, but if one rookie is above the pack or just has that good of a resume, their record doesn't matter. I don't think Franz will win because there is equal competition, not because of records.

ROY is now a record based award. Otherwise no way Mobley would have gotten ROM award for OCT & NOV over Barnes as Barnes was considerably ahead of Mobley in all major stats (Pts, Rebounds, Assists) at the end of OCT & NOV.

So whats your reasoning behind Franz winning ROM for December? It has nothing to do with record. Also, Barnes was not considerably ahead of Mobley either.

NOVEMBER
Mobley-15ppg 8rebs 2ast 2blks
Barnes- 14ppg 8rebs 4ast 1blks 1stl

Very similar numbers with a slight edge to Mobley.

And I think in the Mobley vs Barnes debate, advanced stats are pointing towards Mobley being more impactful on defence (despite Barnes being solid on that side).

weren't both Mobley and Barnes out for a string of games? and Wagner did ball out as well. he had a 38 point game. i think its fair to give that award to Wagner for December.

Franz win ROM of DEC because both Mobley and Barnes did not play much in DEC. Mobley was among top 3 for ROM of DEC and I think he would have won it if he had played 2 more games in DEC.

At the end of NOV these were the stats of Barnes and Mobley:
Barnes : 15.4 pts, 8.1 rebs, 3.4 asts, 1.1 stls, 1.0 blks
Mobley : 14.8 pts, 8.2 rebs, 2.5 asts, 0.8 stls, 1.8 blks

As you can see above Barnes was a shoe-in for ROM of OCT & NOV but Mobely got it and the biggest reason is Mobley's team was playing much much better than Barnes's team.

Jalen Green has been playing a lot better since returning from injury. Seems like he watched a lot of tape during his down time.

He was also playing most of his minutes with a Tate-Thies-Wood lineup. Spacing was absolutely non existent

The scoring is given but Jalen can really develop guard skills and quick passing more..he eats 3 seconds of shot clock thinking his next offense instead of passing it making him have more option be more open on offense

He's like the biggest player in the starting lineup, so someone has to get the rebounds.

It's hard to get that many rebounds regardless. Just pointed out they have no big players to compete with him for rebounds.
