which is why he had trade value and fox didn't to get a player of Sabonis caliber...??

I really wanted the Hawks to slide into the Sabonis trade and unload Collins....before he cratered his trade value. That said, I got Pacers winning this trade

Sac looks like a meteorite that will soar to the second round this season as a peak

kinda weird take since the pacers aren't even gonna make the play-in.

The biggest benefit of the deal is De'Aaron Fox. The best player on either team! Lets go baby! Light the beam and lets pray they don't have a total meltdown and end up with home court advantage 1st round!

So 1 year after the trade the OP felt that the Kings are going to make it to the 2nd round (top 8 teams in the league) and that is somehow a fail after nearly 2 decades of no playoffs. The entire core is 22-26 and somehow they've peaked, but 23 year old Hali has 17 more levels he hasn't reached yet lol.

I don't think so. Kings have soared and I like to see it, but I still think that the Pacers won in the talent exchange and in the long run will benefit more from the trade.

I really think that this is the best we will see from the Kings but the Pacers will reap the benefits of the trade to build a better future...maybe right, maybe wrong

The best we will see when the core is 26 and younger and this is the first year they've played together under a new coach

Kings won't make the 2nd round most likely though. They've been fortunate this year with injuries both internally and externally and have a not easy schedule remaining. But even making the playoffs this year would be very good, and a base to build off

This is a trade that works for both teams. It was obvious Fox and Hali couldn’t coexist. I think the Kings should have traded Fox but it’s obvious baby Jokic Sabonis has unlocked Fox offensively and he just makes the whole team go. Also this is an example of why teams should try and get actual talent when they trade allstars instead of picks. The Pacers are in a much better position to compete than let’s say Houston who haven’t even tried to field an NBA team. Pacers have a 22 year old allstar, drafted a stud in Mathurin and have 3 picks this draft including their own. They’re much closer to a championship than the Rockets, and I like the Rocket’s draft picks since trading Harden.

It's a win-win trade for sure. Pacers record is also worse because they have been abysmal in games he hasn't played or finished. They are 27-23 when he's plays / finishes the game versus 2-13 when he doesn't. Kings are playing awesome right now and both teams can be successful with what they wanted to do after the trade. There doesn't have to be a "winner".

Very debatable claim, to say the least.

Don't know how he managed to fool the Western Conference too.

Indiana is resetting, and the Kings obviously believe that pairing Fox with a legit all-star bigman is what they wanted. Now they've got it. I imagine another move is in the works for Sacramento, and Grant would fit very nicely there.
Looks like i was finally correct on anything.

Cool.

Alltime bad trade

How anyone thought the Kings made the right decision is comical.

Haliburton is a point god.

Fox has always been and willl always be dog water trash.

Trading Hali ended Kings' contention window. Choosing Fox over Hali was criminal.

Its honestly funny reading the comments and people saying this trade was a win-win

It was highway robbery from day 1. The Pacers legit got a franchise point guard for expendable pieces (Sorry Sabonis).

This one is going to hurt. I know it's been 3 years ago but watching the player you drafted who wanted to stay with the Kings go to the NBA finals and having one of the most clutch season is gotta hurt.
