Why does this even matter? Isaiah is a monster in his own right. We comparing them because they are both short? LOL

That's like when Chuck calls every white prospect coming into the league Dirk.

What guys did the Sixers let go and what precentage did they shoot from three point land when they were let go?

Larry Hughes was pretty good when they let him go. They also had Stackhouse. I just think AI was like Westbrook is now. Desire is to have the ball at all times and teammates are there to bail him out with quick J when he can't find an open shot after dribbling all over the place 1-on-4.

AI was entertaining, loved him at Gtown and in Phily. But it's not a great strategy to win. Isiah Thomas (the first one) played that way early in his career then learned to move the rock around. AI never did.

Larry Hughes was a bum as a Sixer and tried to be AI on and off the court and he was not capable of living that lifestyle and still performing so the Sixers got rid of him and his 21% 3 point shooting. Jerry Stackhouse was nothing but a future sixth man that couldn't recognize that AI was to be the franchise player so he clashed with AI and that couldn't work, and he was a turnover machine averaging 3.4 turnovers. If AI did so much refusing to let teammates score then how did Stackhouse find so much opportunity to average 3.4 turnovers?

I'm fine with you saying Larry Hughes was a bum, but Stackhouse?

Haven't read any of thread but this is what I see:

Athleticism - advantage Iverson, I think AI is quicker, better handles, and can get to the rim far better than IT

Shooting - Thomas looks like the better shooter

Play making - I think they are both good at using their teammates, but I think at times IT uses his teammates as a bailout because he gets caught in the air or can't create anything

Scorer - Iverson is a better scorer

To me IT looks like a bigger Spud Webb lol, he is such a liability on defense (Iverson was too but IT seems to be a bigger one); his lack of size is so glaring and since his handles/quicks are not as good as AI's we are not going to see a recreation of the classic Iverson crossing up Jordan. IT has no chance vs Lebron, I would feel more confident in AI creating offense.......
I'm so tired of the typical......

To me iverson is better... PG not super important but you need to hide IT, iverson could defend...

i also think IT benefits from the era... iverson would feast on a small ball team with 4 floor spacers around him with shot blockers pulled out of the lane

Isaiah Thomas doesn't belong in the same SENTENCE as Allen Iverson.

I'm addressing this because I see people constantly pissing on IT while Iverson is on some nostalgic pedestal and it annoys me. Both were mediocre defenders who got steals in the passing lanes but not much else (although Iverson was better defensively). Isaiah's efficiency on offense more than makes up for PG defense.

"But defense!" People need to realize PG defense was never a huge thing. Sure, big PG's like Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Dennis Johnson who also guarded 2s and 3s. But most other hall of fame PG's didn't play a lick of defense. Stop being hypocritical.

Celtics should draft Lonzo Ball, a John Wall/Steve Nash hybrid.

Like in Celtic lore, Isaiah Thomas is a leprechaun and fool's gold.
Professional sports is idolatry.

to be fair...efficiency IS important...but, this is just out of hand....this Celtics team is still infinitely more talented and deeper than Any team AI ever played on
