The Nets still will be really good. Run it back. But I mean, this can end up being a total disaster. But give them one full season run and see what happens. I'm more interested what the starting rotation and bench will look like. Then Steve Nash gets fired after an 8-12 start, Jacque Vaughn takes over again. Like dude... Sean Marks needs to go back to just building his team his way and tell the owner Tsai to stay the f*** out of the front office decisions.

This is good. The nets will be an enjoyable clown show especially once Ben starts playing

Re: Shams: Kyrie Irving opting in
I believe reading somewhere that PG is KD's favourite player in the NBA?
IF Irving still wants to be traded, I'd like to see a deal of George for Irving with a few other minor pieces being exchanged.
Maybe I'm higher on Terance Mann that most people but I feel given a bigger role he could really develop into an Allstar and if they could get on court and stay healthy a duo of Irving and Leonard is exciting

The gap in value between PG13 and Kyrie is substantial.
Nobody wants Kyrie, except on a low-risk, short term deal (like an MLE for one season). On the other side, pretty much every team would want Paul George.

No way the Clippers are trading George. He showed up in the 2021 WCF. There's hunger there, if this next season goes to crap, yeah he's available. He got caught up in COVID protocols too for the play-in. Just need our team to stay healthy.

They'll have John Wall, don't need kyrie at the moment

I feel like that’s either under valuing Kyrie or over valuing Wall. I don’t see them as even close to equal value

Why do people keep saying Brooklyn is a contender??? They are a trash team. They’ve won 1 playoff series in the last 7 years! Barely made playoffs last year. They aren’t a threat to any team with championship dreams.

Lakers didn't win a single playoff serie in similar time span and suddenly they won championship.

Kyrie daring to be different by taking 35 million for playing or not playing a game is totally the same as boldly leading us to interstellar colonization, hydrogen fuel cells, and curing cancer.

Kyrie may be a weirdo, but he's nowhere near dumb enough to give up 30 mln. dollars to play with Lebron for a year, so nobody should be surprised by this.

Nets favorite for the Eastern conference. People's feelings don't change that.
KD in this dysfunctional year was .655 win team in the 55 games he played, which is a record that would have them top of the conference. KD and Irving with a healthy season together is easily favorite out of the East.

Re: Shams: Kyrie Irving opting in
As much as I hate to say it, this Nets team can still be very good if healthy and somewhat sane.
I would not be shocked if they were in the finals, conversely, I wouldn’t be shocked if KD and Irving were traded. I don’t remember a team with such a huge margin of potential outcomes.

Shocked that Kyrie didn't give up 30 million to go play in La where he can only be blamed if they lose, and will also still get no credit if they win.
At least when he blows it for NJ, he'll be getting paid and taking time off.

they got swept by a good Celtic team but it was as close a series as you can have in a sweep. I dont see it it happening but there is a scenario where Ben Simmons works out, kyrie is on his meds, Harris is healthy, Durant is happy and they are a dominate basketball team next season.

Re: Shams: Kyrie Irving opting in
Had to be a little humbling not to see the league trip over themselves. Makes it easy for Marks to justify not cutting a big contract this off season or next.
If I were him and really wanted out, I would have made myself tradable. Get them to agree to a 3/52 extension or something like that. Tough to move a $37m rental.
Although I'd prefer Brooklyn to be a dumpster fire, I think they'll be fine* if they run it back next year.
* fine = competitive with the top 5-6 teams in the east.

The odds get greater as the math gets difficult for other franchises.
As said above, it's tough to move a $37m rental.
