His achilles was caring what other people think. That's why Kawhi is so great. He only listens to God.

Such terrible news. I don't care about what anyone says, KD is a great competitor for me, too much sometimes. He had nothing to prove after his two rings and Finals MVP but he still risked his health to come back with his team in a near hopeless situation. Not a smart decision, but you can't question his heart and competitive spirit.

If he didn't play, people would have doubted his love for the game and said stuff like, he never cared for the Warriors and wanted the world to see that they can't win without him.

He played while most likely not 100% healthy and maybe ruined his remaining career if it is really an achilles tear. I hope it's only a partial tear (if that is possible) and he will be close to full health when the next season starts.

Who cares about such silly criticism.

I mean, Vince Carter used to get criticism for having "no love for the game" by not playing through injuries in his prime.

At the end of the day, it has extended his career massively.

Now, Vince is 42 years old and will become historic for playing most NBA season ever.

It's a shame on how Durant doesn't have a thicker skin for outside criticism like Vince had.

Looney re-injured too. Granted, Looney did seek a second opinion to get there.

Permanent black mark for the Warriors franchise. This just sucks.

That's awful. You never want to see an injury like that.

Warriors medical staff clearing 2 guys to play, and they both leave the game hurt. Not a good look.

I wonder how much pressure they were getting from the warrior staff and KD to clear him.

I hope this changes the narrative about Kawhi Leonard situation with the Spurs. Guys should never come back until they're ready.

Feel awful for Durant. Can't stand him but he is the best player in the world right now, and I love good basketball.

I don't think anyone is to blame but man did Bob Meyers sound guilty or what. Prayers.

Durant used to be NBA's best player during 2017 & 2018, but not anymore.

Kawhi has completely taken over the torch from him.

What I've learned is that in life, you shouldn't worry about narratives and what others think. Just so what's right and have faith in that.

If there's one thing we've seen hints of with Durant is that he cares what other people think more than most. It's a recipe for misery. Hopefully he learns this. It's a far more important lesson than basketball anyways.

Media and RealGm posters have already changed that narrative just like you did right now.

Spurs never forced Leonard to play injured. They shut him down in the 2017 playoffs and they wanted to shut him down in the 2018 season before the playoffs.

Leonard didn't want to be shut down and that created tension with his teammates (the tension with the Front Office was already there since 2016 for reasons other than basketball).

Durant used to be NBA's best player during 2017 & 2018, but not anymore.

Kawhi has completely taken over the torch from him.

Kawhi has to work a lot harder to score, while Durant scores a lot easier and it doesn't matter who is guarding him, he's the most unstoppable scorer of the 2000s 8-)
Kawhi's air-ball fade-away late in the game was a good example of his struggles, while Durant would not air-ball that shot.

Terrible thing to see. Hope he makes a full recovery. Team doctors have a lot to answer for. Clearly he should have never been out there.

I wonder if maybe the league or PA should provide their own doctors and keep it away from the team. He looked good dancing, but I noticed in the first few minutes he wasn't jumping well for rebounds.
