Imagine he got the vaccine, finished his contract and took the 186m and donated that money to social justice causes...then I would give him props.

I don't think he sits the entire year but regardless he's got a good thing going making $15 million a year to do absolutely nothing.

Not too familiar with cap space. But do Nets now have $16M free from their cap?

Nope. Doesn't work that way.

You can repeatedly catch it while vaccinated, and there is plenty of data to suggest it's at least as effective, if not more effective. Even if it wasn't, when does that number become acceptable? 50% as effective? 75%? 90%? 99%? Natural immunity has always been acceptable until COVID. Why isn't it now?

So your assuming everyone who didn't get vaccinated already caught covid now. Also since when was natural immunity always been acceptable?

You have to take shots before being able to attend schools for a reason. Such silly and poorly thought out arguments....

Actually you don’t necessarily have to take the vaccine for something for the doctor to be able to put it on your records of immunization for school. For example if the child had chickenpox the doctor will just put the date the child had it instead of vaccination date.

For this instance however there is plenty of times people have gotten covid more than once. Therefore natural immunity isn’t enough. Not all viruses are the same. Everyone seems to have in their heads that they can only get a virus once and their bodies will prevent reinfection. That’s not true of all viruses. The immunity is not forever even in viruses like measles where the majority of the people can only get it once. Immunity wanes as we get older and our immune system gets weaker. Plenty of people’s immunities for these types of diseases could have reduced and they wouldn’t know because they aren’t exposed to these disease to find out. Because of vaccinations that created herd immunity. Which is the whole point.

This discussion belongs in the covid thread stickied at the top of the forum or on the current affairs board. This thread is about Kyrie Irving, the Nets, and the NBA. Not debates on immunity.

For the bazzilionth time please help us keep this thread from being derailed. I'm trying to be super patient and friendly about it but continued derailment will result in strikes. Thanks.

You mean props for being a moron. Kyrie is the NBA's biggest diva. Hope he retires.

Lol, Kyrie doesn't believe in anything but doing the buzzy thing that draws attention to himself.

I think he is stubborn enough to not vaccinate. I doubt anyone can speak some sense into his mind. Nets won't win a title without him IMO.

25-50 years from now I truly believe we will look at Kyrie as being on the right side of history similar to Muhammad Ali. If we aren't in a world of global tyranny by then. "Freedom isn't free". By far the easy thing to do is just take the jab. Like a company man like SAS. To look into the face of MSM and stand up for your principles takes heart. Regardless of if I agree with those principles or not. Just so happen in this case I do agree.

As much as I admire athletes for dedicating so much of their lives to prefecting their crafts. Life should be more than dribbling a ball. Even if it's for millions of dollars.

No. This is an entirely different issue. You can be wrong about one thing and right about another.

They are straight up forcing average people to either get the vaccine or give up the ability to support themselves.

The media has convinced people that it's somehow this last 20% of people that is causing society not to get back to normal. Even when we ultimately pressure our way to 99%, it still won't be enough. And even then these same people will complain not enough people are getting boosters.

Now put on your damn seat belt, mine doesn't work unless you wear yours!

I think I just lost some brain cells reading this. This is so embarrassing lol. Just throwing out random numbers with no proof and making terrible analogies  Trying to equate seatbelt use to a contagious pandemic. Plus….seatbelt use mandates are actually a thing for everyone’s safety  So lazy, such a snowflake, so pathetic

Sorry I live in California where the vaccination rate is 73%, and meanwhile they are forcing people to get it to even go into restaurants. My bad I was off by 7%, such a huge difference.

Listen man, if you are that scared to go outside just stay inside and wait it out. It will all be okay. You can make insults, I don't blame you. You've been severely brainwashed to think your neighbor is your enemy. I'll pray for you, god bless.

I’m not afraid to go out because I’ve been vaccinated. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but vaccination severely lowers the chance I’ll end up in the hospital from Covid 19. But maybe that’s not circling around in the conspiracy fb groups you frequent

More likely is 5 years from now virtually all restrictions are lifted so nobody will care he stood up to medical "tyranny", the COVID vaccine will continue to prove to be safe and effective, and we will look at countries like the US and think of all the deaths that could have been prevented.

So now Kyrie is the next Muhammad Ali? Kyrie hasn't said a damn word besides standing behind other people. But yet he's the next Muhammad Ali. We don't know what his stance on this whole thing is since he hasn't really said anything.

Meh. When thy start fining him and docking his pay for the games he misses Kyrie will reluctantly get vaccinated while all the time railing against the "police state."
