NBA players will stick up for their own no matter what. I was disgusted by Al Jefferson when he said (paraphrasing) that that "Delonte West is a good guy" after his thing with Hayward, and this is 1,000x worse.

The more Perkins opens his mouth, the more stupid he sounds. Artest won't "hurt anybody"?

Guess he missed out on the Palace brawl.

ok, 12 suspensions

But one of those was from the Pacers, so the League has only suspended the guy a mere 11 times! Come on, what player in this league hasn't been suspended 11 times!

tell me about.

I still think he should be suspended 5-10 games though, after that you're just overreacting. lol@ life time ban suggestions.

There have been many in the media saying on record that they don not believe that Ron would do it on purpose, even with his history. That speaks volumes about Artest's heart and where he stands with his peers.

The reality of the situation is that it does not matter if he intended to strike him like that or not, the elbow should not have been thrown in the first place, and since he connected, a harsh punishment is in store.

BUT life time ban ? pssshh yeah right.

Based on his past history (see the Piston-Pacer brawl) I would not be a bit surprised if Stern bans him from the NBA and I would support him if he did.

And some of you Laker fans making excuses for what Ron Ron did--------> :nonono:

 Are you serious? I still can't believe people cite that as a viscous clothesline.

THIS is a real clothesline. Not someone reaching for the ball and going a little higher than they meant to. The dude is 5'9. MWP is 6'7. He's gonna reach high if he's not careful.

I watched the video again.

Harden CLEARLY headbutted Artest right in the elbow. Harden should be suspended for that

And if I believe both?

I like him, I think he's sincere, but it's not right to continue to subject other players to his poor impulse control.

Not counting the brawl, he's been suspended 11 times for a total of 23 games. Here's the link that goes back through 1994, find me another player who's been suspended 12 times

Most of those suspensions are irrelevant, we have his going into the stands in Detroit and then hitting Barrea last year. People are acting like he regularly throws elbows to the dome.

I would agree if he was suspended till the end of the season + all the play-offs. Not over the top but still sending a message to MWP. Lifetime ban sounds a bit too harsh and Stern would't have the balls to do it anyway.

Those don't compare

Artest on Harden was during A DEAD BALL!!! At least those other plays there can be some excuse of trying to play defense.

People who are not defenseless don't let themselves get hit like that. Harden had no idea that he was about to get clocked.

So how many more chances should the guy get?

Flagrant Foul 1 for a reason. He didn't go try to knock a guy out. Like I said in my previous post.

No, Kevin Love got TWO games for stepping on someone's face. TWO.

You're arguing a point I'm not making. You may think he went after him to knock him out, I certainly don't.
