I'm not sure it's sunk in yet... maybe it will on Monday - parade will be passing by the office. Looks like decent weather too!

Hooray, the evil empire's era is over! :D Ended by a candidate pretty much nobody except their fanbase expected in the beginning of the season - surprisingly tough, poised and resilient Toronto Raptors, 2018/19 edition! Curry and Durant - you are still betas, arguably the greatest betas in NBA history, but still betas compared to pure alphas like Kobe, Kawhi and LeBron!
To pair it with AD coming to my Lakers, and this season ends on a positive note, with good guys prevailing, while Warriors/Celtics/Knicks fans - wailing in despair! ;-)

Feels so good 8-) ...Champions forever! I will re-watch these historic moments for years to come. Don't think I'll ever tire of it either, these Championships are so rare and hard to come by. Feeling blessed....

Logged in early to finish up And1'ing the Finals GT's but the big boss man himself Howard has been PM'd from a few deplorable individuals complaining about me. I have been instructed to cease and desist. Taking my talents back to the Raptors board.

I still refuse to acknowledge their team success as it all happened in an 8 team league. When you have half of the top players in the league most seasons, you should win a lot of titles.

Still a great team accomplishment but it shouldn’t be compared to the modern era (post ABA).

Do not compare what Dirk did against a fully STACKED Miami Heat team to the hobbled Warriors the Raptors beat.

Nothing will ever touch that playoff run.

The average age of that starting lineup was 32.5 years old. Their bench rotation consisted of Barea, Peja (33), Stevenson and Haywood (31). It has to be one of the worst teams (not how they actually played, but talent, age, athleticism, etc..) to ever win a title. Not to mention go through Roy and LA, the repeat champs Kobe and Gasol, KD Westbrook and Harden...en route to beating the big 3.

Raptors story is different. It was wrought with struggles that harkened back to previous shadows mixed in with actual, team oriented dominance.

They beat the 3 best teams in the playoffs IMO in Philly, Milwaukee and GS. They did it with a mix of slow pace, gritty defence, as well as fast paced O, three point bombs, crisp passing.

It's one of the best all around championship teams in the last 20 years IMO.

76ers would have won with a healthy Embiid. Warriors were still winning without KD, and if Klay doesn't go down they take this.

A win is a win, but this was very unimpressive. Raps backed into a title

Joel Embiid got hurt???? the guys who missed his first 2 seasons might be prone to injuries???
Truly shocking development

Also stfu. Warriors in 2015 beat the Grizzlies with an injured Conley. Beat the Cavs missing Kyrie and Love
Warriors in 2017 injured Kawhi on a clearly dirty play. Lets start taking away all these titles.

Enjoy your championship Toronto, **** what other people think. You beat three great teams to win your first title and you guys deserve this success for all the humiliation you suffered at the hands of Lebron. Nobody picked you guys to beat the Warriors despite the assumption that KD would most likely not play and even though Klay got injured, he was there for Game's 1, 2, 4, 5, and more than half of 6.

There are far worse teams to win championships way back in the old days and nobody says anything about them so tune out the salty haters and enjoy your championship.

The other argument is that with the 90s expansions the league became watered down. All the teams the Celtic's were facing were arguably stacked.

Either way you count something or you don't. In 50 years from our time with gene editing and bionics people may look at the players of our era and see them as more primitive than we do players from the 50s. Should we throw out the record books every half century?

NBA fans seem to be the only ones to discredit the achievements of players in past decades. You see this much less in MLB where guys like Babe Ruth are still venerated.

we like friendly people. come on up! still plenty of room. also re diversity: did you know that Toronto is literally the most diverse city in the world? In the last census it showed that 48% of Torontonians were born in another country. That is an insanely high number. so you'll just be like everyone else no matter where you are from or what you look like.
