Scottie tonight:
28 points/16 rebounds/4 assists/ 5 steals/1block [Shot 86% from the field, 100% from deep]
Set the record for the most tip-ins in a game in NBA history. Nets couldn't keep him off the boards. His finishes at the rims were insanely impressive.

Sheesh.

Best ROTY statline of the year? I know there's been plenty of other fantastic performances this year by the rooks.

I missed the game. 16 rebounds are very impressive but were most of those just fall into his hands (lucky) or he had to work to get them (impressive)?

Outworked the Nets on the offensive glass mostly. Looked like healthy Barnes from early in the season with more pop in his step

Almost more impressive than Scottie's line from last night is that this is the second time in the past 3 games that he has scored 28 points. Last night it was on 12-14 shooting but two games ago it was pretty impressive too as he shot 13-18.

Barnes is gonna be amazing once he hits his prime.

This draft seems to have at least 3 surefire All-Star players: Cade, Mobley and Barnes. Maybe others following in this path in the future.

Cade, Mobley and Barnes are gonna be perennial All-Stars for the better part of a decade.

I absolutely love this draft, and think it will be seem as one of the best of NBA's history in the coming years.

Yeah I see Barnes, Mobley, and Cade as bonafide stars. I've believed since day 1 that Cade will be the best player from the draft and I still hold that stance.
I also think Wagner, Kuminga, Suggs, Giddey, & Sengun will be all-stars at some point in their careers.

I agree with you regarding all the players you mentioned.

What I can't seem to grasp, yet, is if someone out of this group will make the jump from star to superstar in the coming years, like Luka, Ja and many others did.

This is the hardest jump one player could make IMO, going from that top 25/30 range to definite top 5/10... and obviously staying there.

From my side, as a fan, the more great players, the better shape the league is, and the more enjoyable the game is to follow.

Cheers, dude.

All class will be, especially top 8. Barnes, Kuminga and Suggs are not even the stand outs for where they were drafted right now.

Not Kuminga IMO but Barnes & Suggs are linked because Suggs was the prevailing #4 pick and the Raptors picked Barnes instead, and Masai Ujiri was initially criticized in some circles for it, or at least it was heavily debated.

But Ujiri is right & in a re-draft now, Barnes goes higher than #4 and Suggs lower than #5. Things may change of course but as of now, the gap is even more glaring given Suggs was reported before the draft to be the more NBA ready one.

Maybe it will be a debate for Raptors fans if Suggs becomes better long term but its not a debate for magic fans. We had no chance to draft Barnes what is there to debate for ?
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I can easily see a scenario where Mobley is a top 15 player (i.e. make an All-NBA team). It's harder to say for the others. Maybe Barnes or Cade get into a great situation but the path is harder to see for them.
That's not a knock, most drafts don't produce multiple top 15 players.

there are 10 rookies averaging atleast 10 ppg (i'm rounding, the Cam Thomas is averaging 9.9)
Only 2 were not top picks, Duarte (very old for a rookie, makes sense) and Cam Thomas.
The 2 top 10 picks not averaging 10ppg are Kuminga and Zaire Williams.

Those two (Zaire and Kuminga) have carved out legit rotation roles on good teams, too, so not like they've been failures.

Amazingly smooth transition compared to a 'normal' draft class.

Actually Kuminga was the first name linked to Raptors along with Giddey even before the lottery. Out of the rookies Kuminga resembles the most what Masai looks for. But he did not perform better in G league so his stock went down. And Raptors unexpectedly jump ahead in lottery to draft at #4. Then all this talk of Suggs started.

Pretty amazing game by Barnes, was super active in the extended highlights I saw.
Gotta rep my homeboy, so worth mentioning Josh Giddey getting three straight triple doubles (whilst being the youngest guy to ever get a triple double).

11pts/12 rebs/10 asts on the 12th Feb
28/11/12 on the 14th Feb
17/10/10 on the 16th Feb

His earlier triple double was probably the better stat line though (Jan 2nd)
17pts/13/14 and 4 steals

Cade 21/7/5 on 51% shooting in his last 3 games. Barnes 20/8/2/2/1 on 72% FG in his last 4 games.

Next game Detroit vs Toronto
