Amazing game, packed arena, had a pljeskavica and a coke 15 minutes ago. That's what I call a night to remember.

Now onto my shirt ironing for tomorrow lol.

Latvia finished at the bottom of group H with a 1-5 record. The group consisted of Bosnia, Greece and Bulgaria. Bosnia finished first with a 5-1 record, Greece finished second with a 4-2 record and Bulgaria finished third with a 2-4 record. Both of Bulgaria's victories were against Latvia. They beat Latvia 110-104 in Sofia in a game that went to double OT. And they also beat them in Riga by a single point (65-66) in a game where Latvia seemed to be in control until the 4th quarter. In general, Latvia had a lot of close calls in this group. They lost to Bosnia by 1 point in the opener (61-62) and in the final game of the group stages, they lost to Greece in OT by 3 points (94-97).

The Netherlands finished 2nd in group D with a 3-3 record. Their group consisted of Croatia, Netherlands, Turkey and Sweden. The Netherlands beat each one of these times once and they lost to them once as well.

They finished last in a group with Bulgaria and Bosnia. Sad, but these things will happen with window system. Despite todays win, there is still a legit chance Serbia does not make WC for example.

It is Eurobasket thread, but also we cover all WC qualifiers, so it is not OT, thanks for posting. Seems like FIBA had their commentators for Serbia game, so they were doing a broadcast somewhere?

Yeah, the window system really hurts some teams. If your team relies on a couple of really good players that play in the NBA or the EuroLeague then the window system is horrible for you. Latvia is an example of such a team.

That must have been an amazing experience live. Congratulations on the win.

Would be nice to see Clarkson put half as much energy on defence as he does on offence.

Puerto Rico squeezes a very important win against Brazil. Was trailing entire second half, but Waters stupid yet heroic step back 3 proved to be decisive. Canada vs Argentina should be very interesting one, starts in 30 minutes, I know Pangos is playing, not sure about Facu.

It has been mentioned a few times in this thread, that the official FIBA streaming for international viewers is available at https://www.courtside1891.basketball/
The highlights are compiled from those streams.

Canada's defence was impressive in this game, Argentina was all over the place.

Went to watch Sweden vs Germany last night. In a game which I can only describe as...bad. Sweden managed to shoot 2-22 from 3 and there was a 15 minute delay at the start of the 4th quarter as the scoreboard reset itself and nobody could figure out how to get it working again.

Still, nice to see Franz play in person for the first time. Such a smooth player.

Germany will get crushed at their own home court in the eurobasket... If everyone (or nearly everyone) would be available, I could see us playing for a medal. But now? We can be happy if me make it out of the group stage.

Dennis Schröder lightly sprained his ankle and you saw that yesterday against Sweden. He was nowhere near 100 % and looked extremely slow and cautious.

All our talent at the big positions is either injured (Mo Wagner, Maxi Kleber, Daniel Theis, Tibor Pleiß) or unwilling to play for whatever reason (Isaiah Hartenstein, Danilo Barthel). Leaves us with Jo Voigtmann and "WoBo" who of course gives effort, but is completely overwhelmed at this level. And additionally to the fact that we are really thin at the big positions, our coach seems to want to hold on to a two big lineup. So instead of playing Franz Wagner at the 4, he stays with playing Voigtmann at the 4 and combining it with WoBo at the 5....
If you look at our eurobasket group, you have NBA talent at the 5 on each team besides Slovenia and Hungary. I don't see how WoBo or Voigtmann can contain the likes of Domantas Sabonis, Rudy Gobert, Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic even slightly. This will be horrible...Maybe not as desastrous as the world cup in 2019 where we had our NBA talent and failed mightily, but still....

Kleber said he wanted to take the summer off. Plus, he was never really eager to play for Germany anyway. Also basically never played on those youth national teams cause he was either injured or no one knew about him.

As for Hartenstein, the other players never liked him cause he was/is a prick. They preferred not to have him on the team.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

It's so hard to follow because I haven't found a place where all the box scores are easily available.

Yes I know that Kleber wanted to take the summer off. Main reason here is that he needs to regenerate as he had problems in the past few months or even years with his body. Thats why I listed him as injured. He played for the national team in the past whenever it was possible for him which was not the case often due to injuries.
