he also did this once in the second half.
if he ever develops some decent baby hooks and can hit something around 50% FT the dude will be a total monster.

Same. Drummond has potential to be really good. He actually dropped for us and we passed him up. SMH

I wanted GS to take Drummond at 7. Big ups to Jason for going after that Ross dunk and not being afraid of the poster photo.

This kid does not move like a center. Someone that size should not have that much body control.

Andre Drummond is a freak, Those moves at :35 and 1:25 are smooth.

The weird thing about Drummond is how fast and agile he is for how big he is. You see him dribble the ball up the court a couple of times in that video, and he looks perfectly comfortable doing so. He also somehow has an unorthodoxly good off the dribble face up game already. I'm not calling for ROY or MVP, but I couldn't be happier with how Andre is playing already.
I feel like the rookie/sophomore all star challenge is going to be awesome to watch this year. So many amazing young players in the league.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread pt. II
lol. Drummond going 9 is remarkable. For all you non-Pistons fans, Detroit beat the Heat with their 2nd string.
Detroit's starters have been trash lately. The 2nd unit has been getting the most minutes the last 2 games and they are leaps and bounds better than Detroit's starters. Time to start Drummond? No reason this kid should be playing behind Maxiell. I actually like what the Pistons have done so far with him, but it's time to take off the training wheels. When he's not in there, teams dunk all over the Pistons. When he's in the game, that doesn't happen. Veterans are respecting a 19 year old's defense.

Agreed. In all honesty, no matter what Drummond ends up being in the league. He should have went 4. Picks 1 and 2 were and still are great picks in my opinion. I think Drummond has the potential of those first two picks but #1 was easy and #2 was for a player with great upside and character. Drummond was a risk that multiple teams whiffed on badly. Pick 3 made sense because of the hype surrounding Beal. Drummond should have went 4.
Thank you Cleveland, Sac-town, Golden State (although Barnes could be special, can't hate that pick), and Toronto.
Signed - Pistons fan (we had no business getting this kid at 9), report out of Detroit pre-draft had us taking John Henson.
Out of all the teams mentioned, Toronto had him gift wrapped just like Detroit. I like the Ross kid and his hops, but c'mon, he would have been there at late-lotto (at least trade down). That Drummond pick at 8, seems like it would be easy to trade based off potential alone.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread pt. II
It’s no coincidence that players with awful defensive reputations like Daye and Villanueva suddenly look formidable when they play their minutes with Drummond. Imagine the impact he might have playing next to … nevermind. Drummond’s production continues to stay consistent, he looks more confident nearly every game and, most importantly, he finely seems to be earning more trust from Lawrence Frank. Better late than never.

He can be Cousins without the drama.

They are nothing alike. I'm a Pistons fan who watched a ton of Cousins because I always hoped we'd get him in the draft or by trade. I can't think of any player in the NBA past or present to compare to Drummond. He's raw for sure, but is a very unique big. Anyone that has watched enough of him this year will tell you he does things that shouldn't be possible in a 6'11 280 frame.
By the end of the year, it won't be forums across the internet primarily hyping him up. National media will catch on when he ends up starting and dominates one of the elite bigs in the league (it's gonna happen). I'm sure he'll take his licks too (he's 19) D12 vs Drummond? Can't wait to see that.

1. I'm amazed that Drummond fell as low as he did. I'd have drafted him at 2 just for his size alone. Hard to come by.
2. Drummond's a very cool guy. There's a bar that's across the street from the Palace. After an exhibition game this year, I went there with some friends and saw Drummond pretending to be a restaurant host. I've heard nothing but good things about from the people who work with the Pistons.

That's awesome man. That is becoming a common theme in the Detroit-Area. People love this kid.
I have friends that met him recently and say he's a really well-spoken kid that laughs alot and is really approachable. All I hear is stories about him and the fact that he's a big kid with a good head on his shoulders.
I hope Gores moves the Pistons downtown. Don't see how that can happen will all the money he just dumped into the palace though.
At #9 ----- Pistons hit the jackpot.
