People expected that to happen again? 50/40/90 is one of the rarest accomplishments in the NBA, Durant is likely never to do it again. Lebron will never do it in his career. Let's not pretend it's easy

Not expect it but I expected him to be close to his numbers last year. Didn't you?
Right now he's at 45% FG and 36% from 3. A fairly substantial drop off I would say.
We'll see if the numbers improve as the season progresses but he is down from last year's November.

I have 4 players in the conversation

Paul George
LeBron James
Chris Paul
Kevin Durant

Indiana is 14-1 and George is playing great. Averaging 24/6/3 on 47% shooting. PER 23
Miami is 12-3. Lebron: 26/6/7 on 60% shooting, PER 31
LAC is 11-5. Paul: 19/5/12 on 46% shooting. PER 28
OKC is 10-3. Durant: 28/7.5/5 on 45% shooting. PER 26

1. LeBron James
2. Chris Paul
3. Paul George
4. Kevin Durant

KD can win it, but the smart money is on Lebron of course, probably handing Durant his 4th second place finish to Lebron in the process. Think about how we would be talking about Kevin Durant if Lebron did not exist? He'd have 3 MVPs by age 24, and would be the odds on favorite to win this season.

I think Roy Hibbert being defensive player of the year is the biggest lock of all the awards barring injury. Even more likely than Lebron MVP

Yeah Hibbert is playing like a **** beast.

Going to steal a post from the Kevin Durant Thread in the PC board.

After November last year: 48%/29%/87%
After "November" two years ago: 45%/35%/82%
After November three years ago: 43%/23%/94%
After November four years ago: 46%/24%/86%

November this year: 47%/38%/88%

He always shoots poorly in November. By the end of the year he'll be around 50/40/90 like always

For whatever reason, Durant usually has a rusty/sluggish November. He'll be fine.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

Aren't those numbers wrong?
According to ESPN, he shot 51% FG , 43% 3p, 89% FT last year in November. If anything he was out of the gate running rather than sluggish.
His points did increase as the season went along and I wouldn't be surprised if that happened this year as well given the loss of Kevin Martin.

The guy is playing at a video game level, and some of us(myself included) aren't satisfied yet. A four games 30+ PPG on 50+ % FG triple-double streak would be amazing. He's never had a triple-double streak before and i'm sure he's fully aware of what Kobe said last year when he had his six games of 30+ points on 60% shooting. I'm sure LeBron would like to top MJ's triple-double streak.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

Kobe and MJ sound buthurt when talking about LeBron. But I understand it. Kobe doesn't like that LeBron has already surpassed him in every cateagory and MJ feels LeBron is going for the GOAT spot.

MJ yes, but I always hear Kobe rave about Lebron. A slight jab here and there but nothing too bad. Hey they are aware of the situation.

Durant another terrible shooting night. Don't know what's going on with him right now. He's still getting plenty of good looks that he was making last year, but this year they arne't falling for him right now. I do think he needs to go away form trying the Dirk one-legged fadeaway from the post and be more decisive with the ball when he catches it in the hid or mid post.

It's always interesting to me how players pick sides in their gripes.

Shaq was notorious for this. Everyone knows about his smack against Kobe, but he was as likely to talk Kobe up as knock him down. The important thing to always remember was that whether it was meant as an insult or a compliment, you shouldn't listen to any of it.

Jordan's certainly given his share of negativity Kobe's way, but now it's clear Kobe isn't a threat, and it's also clear that LeBron serves as a much bigger threat not simply based on actual impact, but as a rebuke on how Jordan played. The reason guys like this are so quick to knock LeBron for being afraid to shoot the big shot, is because they are secretly afraid they he's actually going about things the right way, which means they were hurting their team with their individual focus.

I agree with you at everything, but I don't believe Jordan was hurting his team with his individual foccus. He won the ring 6 times while playing at GOAT level.

I don't get why LeBron's play being right has to make Jordan's play wrong. Different ways of winning... so I don't think MJ should be always so buthurt about LeBron. If he surpasses MJ it's not because MJ said LeBron didn't that it won't happen. Call it like it is.
