Yes. They did.

But Steph is playing exceptionally well in the NBA Finals, averaging a series high 31 ppg on 48% shooting from 3-pt range.

Teammate Draymond Green is averaging 5 ppg. There's a chance the Celtics are simply a better constructed team overall.

I do wonder: if Steph can continue playing at such a high level, might he garner any Finals MVP votes even if his team loses.

He's playing very well on O. Can't say the same on D.

I see you counted the quarter from game two where he did not play at all. Lol

Doesn't matter a fully healthy dubs team was better that the Raps or not. You won, the end.

lol the warriors clearly had a more talented team, when fully healthy. I think the raptors team having an asterisk is silly because they beat giannias and embiid/simmons/butler championship calibre teams. I'm a Torontonian fwiw.

That is a pretty asinine thing to say.

Stephen Curry entered these Finals not needing to prove a damn thing.

He's proving something—everything, really—anyway.

Through three games, Curry has turned in three masterpieces, averaging 31.3 points while downing 48.4 percent of his twos and a molten-hot 48.6 percent of his threes. His 3.7 assists per game won't endear him to conventional point guard sticklers, which is fine, because he's always been anything but conventional.

The magnetic pull he has on Boston's defense, both on and away from the ball, is a form of playmaking unto itself. Not surprisingly, and most problematically, Golden State's offense has cratered during his absence. Its effective field-goal percentage dips by nearly 10 points while its offensive rating plunges by 25.3 points per 100 possessions when he's catching a breather.

The Warriors have been at their best, and at their most hopeful, whenever the ball is in his hands. He has even held up fairly well when Boston targets him on defense.

As things currently stand, Curry has a genuine chance to win Finals MVP regardless of how this series ends. This, of course, presumes he's healthy enough to keep playing at his present, and mythic, pace.

Í thought it was noteworthy how poorly Curry has played on the 4th in this serie. It's something we have became to expect from him but this is really bad play by him on the 4th so far:

3 ppg, 1,5 ast, 1 trb, 1.5 tov
3/10 FG, 0/3 3pt, 0 Fts

If they want to win Curry has to play better. 3 ppg on decent minutes is just horrible. He has to attack more and stop shooting bricks from 3.

yeah but what about the rest of the quarters? they also need him to be 120% to have a chance. So you are saying Curry needs to avg 40 on 65%TS, and 10 of them needs to be in the 4th. On the other hand Tatum can have his 20 ppt game while shooting 45%TS. I dont think he has anything to prove here dude left everything out there on the court.

If the warriors lose this series the only championship Steph will have won without KD joining will have been a cavs team missing Kyrie and Kevin Love. That will put an end to the top 10-15 player discussion.

Steph has easily been the best player in the series and is currently outplaying Tatum by a country mile. He’s not the reason the Warriors are trailing 2-1.

It's too much to ask your star not to shoot 30% in the most important quarter?

On the contrary, winning this series would validate that stance. Not winning a Finals MVP is really the only thing Curry haters have left

The dude is having an all time great NBA Finals run. Regardless of which team wins the title, Curry has been phenomenal:

Just accept Steph Curry is an all time great.
The Warriors kinda suck this year, Dray is done, Klay has declined. Andrew "Bust" Wiggins is their second best player.
Yet they are 2-2 in the NBA finals with homecourt advantage thanks to that skinny guy.

His dad was exposed tonight. He had a new woman that don't even look better than mama Curry.

the year the cavs beat the warriors they attacked curry defensively and played him physically and wore him down. the celtics are attacking him and he's had to carry the offense. his stamina is very good.
